One problem I can see from the error is the port is wrong, and NTL doesn't use secure connection. Open OE, go to tools, accounts, mail, hoghlight the account and click properties, then clickon advanced, change incoming port to 110 and outgoing to 25, and untick "this server requires secure (ssL) connection" on both incoming and outgoing. Then try again. If no luck go back to the account scetion and remove the account, then recreate it, it will ask for some settings most of which you should know, except the incoming server and outgoing. Incoming is pop.ntlworld.com outgoing us smtp.ntlworld.com leave all other options at the default If still no luck try it again after disabling your anti-virus dugq, Aug 11, 2004 #4 kwill Thread Starter Joined: Jan 5, 2003 Messages: 292 chanegd the por

Do not send email http://www.fjsmjs.com Top Error number 0x800ccc0e by Tim » Sun, 14 Sep 2003 02:36:57 I've looked at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=191687 and didn't find the answer to my problem. It tells me to make sure that TCP ports 25 and 110 are open on the server. I can't do that. I don't control that server. However, at my work computer I can telnet to the two ports mentioned with no problem. Therefore the problem seems to be in my PC at home. The following is what I described in an earlier post this morning from home: I can reboot and get it to connect one time. After that I just get this message: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'timber2498', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E This goes for SMTP or POP3 connections. I can ping the servers, but I cannot telnet to them with the proper TCP port you have listed. It's almost like my computer decides to block access to Yahoo mail servers after the first try. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. >-----Original Message----- >> I am receiving the following error message when >> sending/receiving.
