Outlook 2003 was working properly for several years before this happened on two computers at the same time. Our internet connection works in both computers as well. We get the following error; Task 'mail.comcast.net http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/can-not-send-e-mails-outlook-2003/ - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'When I go into Outlook to the test the system I get the following errors; Send test e-mail message; The specified server was found, but there was no response. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click MoreSettings and click on the Advanced tab. AndFind outgoing mail server (SMTP); Outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server (STMP). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support SSL. Verify your port and SSL settings in the More Settings under the Advanced tabI have called our ISP provider a number of times and have checked everything possible in both computers; they tell me that I have a software issue. My ISP provides a web based e-mail & we are able to send e-mails from there but not in Outlook.Our ISP maintains that since the web based mail works I have a software issue, not an issue with their SMTP server. All of the settings in Outlook have been checked along with shutting off the anti-virus software and the appropriate firewalls.This happened, at

However, mail that I tried to send Saturday morning is still stuck in the outbox and producing this error.What's the difference between how Outlook 2003 sends it's 'test message' and how it sends regular e-mail?
