The front of the case is blinking amber for fans, is there another location besides the 4 system fans I am missing? Could this be a sensor? I reseated all fans, PSUs and the carriage that holds them. Husker Fans?   6 Replies Thai Pepper OP JCBeard May 29, 2014 at 10:38 UTC IF the number of the fans are 5 and 7 then either you need to locate those numbers on the mother board or there are more than 4 fans. 0 Pure Capsaicin OP Scott Alan Miller May 29, 2014 at 10:43 UTC Niagara Technology Group (NTG) is an IT service provider. A Compaq!?!? 0 Anaheim OP emajin May 30, 2014 at 12:30 UTC I wasnt able to locate them. Doing a restore to another server while I fix. It was client with old setup 0 Anaheim OP emajin May 30, 2014 at 10:05 UTC I ended up using a barebones of the same model and swapped the HDDs to get it going for now. There is still no mention of fans beyond the 4 case fans immediately underneath the case. I am going to guess this is a thermal sensor issue and I've notified them this server is too old to do any work on. Thanks for the help. 0 Poblano OP Best Answer Tim6799 May 30, 2014 at 10:25 UTC According to HP's Maintenance and Service Guide here (page 26) fans 5 and 7 are the left and right HDD bay fans. 0 Anaheim OP emajin May 30, 2014 at 10:50 UTC Thank you Tim! 0 This discussion has been inactive for over a year.
