does this mean? When I restart it it will print, but not while the eroor is up. Respond to this 0 From HP 4 Service Manual: Parallel configuration: may mean a loose cable connection. Serial configuration: wrong pacing option may be selected. (If you are using an RS232 serial connection, the HP LaserJet printer uses XON/XOFF and DTR signal protocols rather than ENC/ACK protocol.) a device driver designed to detect the tape or modem connected to the PC's parallel port. During the detection process, a signal is sent through the parallel port to be interpreted by the tape or modem device. The HP LaserJet printer intercepts this signal and either will display an Error 22 or print a page of garbled text. This situation may also be encountered during port detection. HP laserjet 4 plus 22 IO PAR ERROR with EXABYTE internal backup sytem Whenever, Windows 95 boots I receive a 22 IO PAR ERR from my HP Laserjet 4 plus printer, the message appears whenver windows test the Exabyte Eagle TR-3 internal backup sytem. After Windows has rebooted I able to use the printer http://www.verycomputer.com/14_34eeb70694e6cad4_1.htm by closing and re-opening it. I was wondering , if the problem was related to the backup software that came with the drive (Seagate backup software v 1.15) if could use another backup utility software to fix the problem. I even changed the parallel port settings in the bios of my computer, the Exabyte technician told me that the tape was occupying the same DMA as my printer, after these changes the message is still there. Tuesday, January 11, 2005 - 4:45 pm: Hi, We just moved the HP laserjet 4 from one office to another, now we get the 22 PAR IO Error message flashing everytime we try to print a document. It won't even http://www.mj-printers.com/discus/messages/22/1180.html?1168123238 print the test document for the computer we attached it to. We've tried shutting it http://info.electronicwerkstatt.de/bereiche/druckertechnik/hp/hp_error_codes3.html off, re-installing the printer. Nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions dchiass Posted on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 - 3:10 pm: My hard-drive packed it in so my h/w guru installed a new hd plus a new install of 98SE. When I first start my PC, I get the following error message flashing on my HP 4 Plus laser printer "22 22 par PAR IO Error". But if I shut off the HP & restart the error goes away & everthing is 100% again. Printer works.. This HP error did not happen before I lost my hard drive. BTW, my h/w guy did not have my printer at his shop at the time of the new install. I also do not have the original disks that came with the printer so if it is a driver prob then I will 22 par io need to find a link to get it from. Any ideas what I should do? Not a stopper but wud like to get it so the error does not appear. THANKS. Stan346 Posted on Saturday, June 12, 2004 - 8:15 pm: My Laserjet 4+ leaves piles of toner on the paper when I try to print a page. Also, it looks like the type is reversed? Can't seem to figure out why it is doing this? Is it trying to print both sides of the paper? Is the toner cart the problem? Thanks! Clement Lee Posted on Thursday, June 26, 2003 - 12:27 pm: Laserjet 4P starts its first page of printing with a bunch UUUUUU. It does that whenever I turn on the printer follow by the PC. My PC is running win2000 and it does not recognize the printer if I turn it on after the PC is on. scott saundPosted on Monday, March 25, 2002 - 4:07 pm: faint print down one side of the page is more likely to be an optical issue, especially if the printer has been located in a dirty/dusty environment - clean optics with a lint free cloth and blow laser housing clean (this may take a little tech, know-how) robert bellew Posted on Sunday, June 25, 2000 - 9:33 am: i picked this printer up second hand ne
