I came across these same error message / installation rollback during testing before 470 was released so I was already familiar with the issue. When the next update comes out, will I be able to again perform an "upgrade in place", or will I need to uninstall both existing (32bitand 64bit) versions first? Thanks. -Mike Find Reply Shark007 Repackaging Specialist Posts: 1,096 Threads: 7 Joined: Apr 2009 #4 08-06-2014, 11:30 AM (07-28-2014, 12:27 PM)Mike Mayne Wrote: When the next update comes out, will I be able to again perform an "upgrade in place", or will I need to uninstall both existing (32bitand 64bit) versions first? Upgrade installations will work again after this one-time forced uninstall. I'm using Windows 7, 32 bit, Visual Studio 2010, .NET 2/3.5 I launched the usual installer, but it stopped with a mysterious 2753 error. How can I proceed with the installation? windows-installer pex share|improve this question asked Oct 8 '13 at 14:55 alcor 457820 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted The solution is: From the command line launch "regsvr32 vbscript.dll". After a http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19251176/error-code-2753-during-install few moments the message "DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded." will appear I hope this could be a solution for other people. share|improve this answer answered Oct 8 '13 at 14:55 alcor 457820 1 Nearly 10 years later and people still don't get it. blogs.msdn.com/b/robmen/archive/2004/05/20/136530.aspx –Christopher Painter Oct 8 '13 at 18:30 You're right @ChristopherPainter and I think there's still little common knowledge about installation best practices. –alcor Oct 9 '13 at 8:21 perhaps it only works with microsoft pex, I have the same problem, but a different software generates the 2753 error, and "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" does not work. –Fresco Aug 16 '15 at 19:12 @Fresco did you find another solution? –alcor Aug 18 '15 at 16:16 1 @alcor Nope, instead I just extracted the file using msiexec /a C:\source.msi /qb TARGETDIR=C:\dest –Fresco Aug 19 '15 at 14:00 | show 1 more comment Did you find this question interesting? prefer 5.11 but as we have network licenses that doesn't seems like an option at the moment.)Anyway, I have a problem when installing:I start by removing the old 5.08 installation. Download RS 5.10 CD image, run setup, install Robotware, install RSO and last install the RS 5.10 (complete installation). Robotware and RSO installations work smoothly but the RS-installation stops early in the installation phase with the message: "Error 2753. The File 'tscc.exe' is not marked for installation."tscc.exe seems like some kind of screen capture codec so I tried to install the included media codecs but that didn't help - I got the same error message. Do someone have any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks!Erik HellstrA?m2008-12-08 14:18:19 0 Disagree Like Awesome · Share on Facebook Comments Henrik Berlin Sweden admin December 2008 Hi,As far as I know, the TSCC.exe is not included neither in the RS 5.08 installation nor in the RS 5.10 installation. But my guess is that the file represents the "TechSmith Screen Capture Codec" that somehow interferes with the RS installation. Please try and uninstall any TechSmith components present on the computerand check if that resolves the problem. 0 Disagree Like Awesome · Share on Facebook Sign In or Register to comment.
