However, it doesn't work for me. The error I get is when it's activated (and https://buddypress.org/support/topic/resolved-forum-replies-causing-403-forbidden-error-to-occur/ I block my own IP address temporarily to test): Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. It doesn't even 403 forbidden show my own custom message at all. Any ideas? If not, don't worry about it. I'll just uninstall and go another way. Was trying to save myself work, not create more. Just wanted to give you a heads up, 403 forbidden error in case this happens to someone else. I fixed it. I had my site installed under a subdirectory and forgot to edit the link: ErrorDocument 403 /SUBDIRECTORYHERE/index.php?status=403 All done. Beautiful!! Plugin Author Jesin A @jesin 6 months ago Glad you got it working and thanks for using this plugin! nixonvs @nixonvs 6 months ago Thank you! (Wish I could go back and edit my previous comment where I tried to make the characters STRONG. Forgot you can't do that if you have it in code mode with the backticks. Anyway, I went back to my own error page because I wanted to send a special message to the occasional idiots who attack my site and cause me to get alerts. I think you'll enjoy it, it redirects to a tart little video that I think we all know. LOL! You can check it out here. Heeee-heee! Cuz I'm a smart ass! You don't have permission to access /groups/qigong-beta-testers/forum/topic/post-your-questions-insights-and-experiences-regarding-lesson-one-here/ on this server. Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Adding new topics works just fine, so the trouble is only regarding replies within a topic. Has anyone experienced this before? I have tested with standard theme and the same problem occurs. My one thought is that I switched to sitewide forums at one point, and then switched back to group forums. I believe that this may have been what caused the problem. If I uninstall group forums and then reinstall will that delete all of the current forum posts? I am very much hoping to avoid having that happen. I appreciate any advice or suggestions on what I can try! Also, I do not see any errors being generated through the error log in my cpanel, so it doesn't appear to be any kind of web hosting issue.
