Also some other suggestions to do in changing the homepage instead of using the default MEdia Net page upon opening a data connection. I thought I looked for a post on this problem but I must of over looked that one. ......................................... Ok I'm a noob, I can't find it >.> However, upon reading more of the threads, I started flipping through options in IE, maybe you can tell me why and what I did and why it was / wasn't working so I know for future reference. Below is what I did and I somehow have the internet working now. > Opened IE from main page, and got the 403 forbidden error (settings follow) > Click Right Soft key to open "Menu" >>> "Tools" >>> "Options" >>> "Connections". This I found has 4 settings. > "The Internet", "Secure WAP Network", "WAP Network", and "Work" the current setting was on "WAP Network" I assume th

to tech support about it and they claim it is not a known issue, and turn to replacing the phone each time. However I know a few people that have had their Blackjack II's replaced twice already http://www.howardforums.com/archive/index.php/t-1402330.html and still have the same issue. It is a shame that such an awesome device has to be flawed by what is probably just a software glitch. Has anyone else seen or heard of this issue and if so is there a simple solution? Mango80805-03-2008, 02:57 AMWhat data plans are they/you using with the Blackjack II? nscali05-03-2008, 04:40 PMI have seen this issue with the PDA connect plan, and messaging plans with medianet pay http://www.howardforums.com/archive/index.php/t-1365536.html per use. slipaway17205-04-2008, 06:02 PMhello, I have my BJ2 for about 5 days now and every other day, i get the "403 forbidden" error when using internet explorer. I have to have internet explorer to point to the wap network in order for it to browse the att intranet such at media net and CV. When i set it back the origninal "the internet" it has never worked. The only way for me to fix this problem is to reboot the phone. im use to leaving my phone on 24/7. It has happened 4 times within the last 5 days. Does anybody else have this problem? im getting sick and tired of this crap..... is the palm centro any good? does it sync up with exchange servers and gmail? jsm748305-06-2008, 10:42 AMSame error here. I was also getting intermittent e-mail connections and issues with downloads. You need to go to Settings > Connections > GPRS > AT&T IMS change it to Connects to: The Internet and change the access point to wap.cingular . Also you could just delete the AT&T IMS connection and it will work. The problem is the phone tries to connect in alphabetical order from the list of connections and that connection is flawed. martyhog05-15-2008, 02:53 AMI have spoken with a lot of people that are ge
Internet on Blackjack 2 Ever since I bought my Samsung BlackJack II smartphone it's had a recurring problem losing its Internet connection. It started within a few days of getting it last Spring. Every couple of days I'd open the mobile http://escapedcharacter.blogspot.com/2009/01/finally-fixed-internet-on-blackjack-2.html browser and instead of my home page I'd see an error message that said "403 Forbidden." There would be no Internet access until the phone was powered off and back on. I did some searching and discovered http://www.fixya.com/tags/403_forbidden_photocopier_ricoh/pdas that others had the same problem. I also found a quicker work-around. By going to the "wireless manager" and turning the phone service off and back on, rather than rebooting the whole phone, I was able to 403 forbidden restore the connection much more quickly. But even better, there appears to be an actual fix now. From the Samsung website BlackJack II owners can download an upgrade to Windows Mobile version WM6.1. In addition to fixing the lost connection "403 Forbidden" problem, there are some other nice improvements to the mobile OS. (Not the least of which is actual Java support so you can now watch youtube videos on the mobile IE browser.)A 403 forbidden error couple of warnings. The documentation on installing the upgrade isn't as clear as it could have been. At least once I had to power the phone back on when the instructions didn't say to. And maybe more importantly, after the upgrade I continued to have the "403 Forbidden" problem occur regularly until I made an additional settings change on the phone. Open the Internet Explorer browser and then use the right soft key to open the Menu. Scroll down to tools--options--connections. On that page, I changed the "Select Network:" setting from "WAP Network" to "The Internet" and I haven't seen the "403 Forbidden" error since. Fingers are crossed, but that's been at least a week ago. Hope this helps someone. I already loved the phone, and do so even more now.
