I have just seen the video by Henrik Frystyk Nielsen from PDC 09 on developing Rest Applications with .Net framework. So I have justcreated a newproject with downloading "WCF REST Service Application" template. Using this template, there are already couple of auto generated methods which are using PUT and DELETE verbs which https://forums.iis.net/t/1166025.aspx are not working for me. I am using Fiddler to create requestover IIS 7. Through fiddler GET and POST verbs are working fine but when i use the PUT or DELETE one it shows the error 405 "Method not Allowed". I am working on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and it uses IIS 7 (which is by default I suppose, I have just enable the IIS from "Add or Remove Programs"). I have tried to enable them from "Request Filtering", but that is not working. So anyone please let me know how to enable PUT and DELETE verbs in IIS 7. FultzJuly 22, 20095 0 0 0 If you are trying to setup a handler to respond to an HTTP PUT unless you already know how to do it you are likely https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/joseph_fultz/2009/07/22/enabling-the-put-verb-with-handlers-and-iis-7-0/ receiving and HTTP 405 Method Not Allowed error. This is one of those things that is actually pretty easy once you figure it out. Basically, you need to make some configuration changes in the web.config. You can do this through the management tool via the Handler Mappings UI in the IIS Manager: However, for those a little more curious and, 405 method in case you don’t have the tool (e.g., running from dev, Azure, Azure dev fabric, etc.) I’ll talk about the configuration settings for both a generic handler (.ashx) and an IISHandler (usually in a separate dll). To use a generic handler you’ll need to modify a few places. First, in the
