I installed Drupal7.23 using Acquia Dev Desktop Control Panel onto my Mac (OS X 10.7.5) - purely for local use (I'm also a server use newbie). I used this install (drupal2) for learning the basics and follow along with tutorials I find on the web. On the second day, after launching the AcquiaDDC and clicking "Go to my site" - I got a "502 Bad Gateway" error on my browser window. The original acquia-drupal site that came with the control panel still works but my drupal2 doesn't. I duplicated both and neither of them work - always with a 502 Bad Gateway message. What is going on? Is this a Drupal issue? An Apache issue? A Mac issue? What IS a bad gateway and how to I fix it? Have you installed any modules on your website, or loaded content from external servers? If so, this can cause the issue and you may want to disable the new modules on your website directly via it's database. This tutorial will provide a good way of achieving that. As you stated that this is a new Drupal installation, I would suggest that you re-install Drupal and then start developing your website on a clean Drupal instance. That information was very helpful and the panic has subsided. I was sure I had not installed any new modules -
