them up vote 2 down vote favorite 1 I'm working with Delphi 7 and I have to generate a lot of bitmaps from a FlashMovie embedded in my Delphi application. Definition of the pictures is 1010x720. When I generate more than 6000 pictures (the number is different everytime), I get an EOutOfResources exception. I've looked around and it seems that it could come from a lack of

available handles. Here is the code: var FFlashPlayerControlExport:TFlashPlayerControl; Bmp:TBitmap; pPNG:TPNGObject; begin Bmp := FFlashPlayerControlExport.CreateFrameBitmap; Bmp.Width := StrToInt(aArgs[5]); Bmp.Height := StrToInt(aArgs[6]); pPNG := TPNGObject.Create; pPNG.Assign(Bmp); pPNG.SaveToFile(sFileName); pPNG.Free; DeleteObject(Bmp.Handle); Bmp.Free; end; I have tried CloseHandle(Bmp.Handle) just before Bmp.Free but I'm getting an EExternalException. Thank you all for your help! UPDATE 06 Dec 2012 : Thanks to Arioch'The's answer, I tried to set the Width and Height of FFlashPlayerControlExport directly instead of using Bmp.Width and Bmp.Height It helped because now I don't get a EOutOfResources exception but the CreateFrameBitmap saves an all-black picture after a while. FlashPlayerControl is still running because I see the picture on the screen. Code update : var FFlashPlayerControlExport:TFlashPlayerControl; Bmp:TBitmap; pPNG:TPNGObject; begin FFlashPlayerControlExport.Width := StrToInt(aArgs[5]); FFlashPlayerControlExport.Height := StrToInt(aArgs[6]); Bmp := FFlashPlayerControlExport.CreateFrameBitmap; pPNG := TPNGObject.Create; pPNG.Assign(Bmp); pPNG.SaveToFile(sFileName); pPNG.Free; Bmp.Free; end; UPDATE 20 Dec 2012 : After contacting the FlashPlayerControl developper team, I found out that the bitmaps become black when the application reaches 10.000 GDI objects. They provided an effective help with my problem, contacting them is efficient :) I eventually found out that the GDI objects leak comes from another parallel part of my code. This subject is close :) flash delphi bitmap delphi-7 share|improve this question edited

When i try to save the image, it throws an exception if the memory stream used to create the image, was closed before the save. The reason i do this is because i'm dynamically creating images and as such http://stackoverflow.com/questions/336387/image-save-throws-a-gdi-exception-because-the-memory-stream-is-closed .. i need to use a memory stream. this is the code: [TestMethod] public void TestMethod1() { // Grab the binary data. byte[] data = File.ReadAllBytes("Chick.jpg"); // Read in the data but do not close, before using the stream. Stream originalBinaryDataStream = new MemoryStream(data); Bitmap image = new Bitmap(originalBinaryDataStream); image.Save(@"c:\test.jpg"); originalBinaryDataStream.Dispose(); // Now lets use a nice dispose, etc... Bitmap2 image2; using (Stream originalBinaryDataStream2 = new MemoryStream(data)) { image2 = new Bitmap(originalBinaryDataStream2); } image2.Save(@"C:\temp\pewpew.jpg"); // This throws the GDI+ exception. } Does anyone have any suggestions to how i could save an image with the stream closed? I cannot rely on the developers to remember to close the stream after the image is saved. In fact, the developer would have NO IDEA that the image was generated using a memory stream (because it happens in some other code, elsewhere). I'm really confused :( c# image exception gdi+ share|improve this question edited Dec 3 '08 at 8:30 Lasse V. I cannot cut and paste anything because the stack trace is always pasted. When i navigate to Toad it gives me a pop up window saying there are errors. I usually have to hard kill the app, because its not recoverable. If I reopen it its fine. This only happens when I open Toad while in the office and then remote in. If I remote in opening Toad, it works fine in the office. When we had prior versions this was happening all the way back to version 10. Create an account to join the discussion.
