Windows 7 IT Pro > Windows 7 Installation, Setup, and Deployment Question 0 Sign in to vote capi2 4101 Hi, Exactly each hour (around HH:30) this event ID 4107 is showing up in the application log: Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3128.event-id-4107-microsoft-windows-capi2.aspx with error: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file. I downloaded and manually installed the certificate succesfully, however the event is still showing up in the eventviewer. Using Windows 7 32 bit. Windows Update says: "Windows is Up To https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/1e7d815a-4d31-44d1-8f1c-373a8d091582/event-id-4107-capi2-failed-extract-of-thirdparty-root-list-from-auto-update-cab?forum=w7itproinstall Date" I looked also at this thread, but no obvious answer (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/83874a44-8d94-4d90-ab22-fc62a3507c1b) Thanks! Sent in a trouble ticket to the windows update team since the cert is coming from this site. Have yet to hear back. Update: Looks like Microsoft got it fixed. The last CAPI2 entry was dated 7:09 pm tonight. Anytime there is an error related to windows update, you can send in a trouble ticket for free and they usually respond pretty quickly.
