Windows 7 Error 5 Access Is Denied
have now bought a new Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit machine and first installed Office 2007, including Access 2007 (though I do not think that it is relevant to my problem). I then installed Access 2003, ran Windows Update, and tried to run my app. All appeared to be well until I installed the Access 2003 Developer Extensions (plus Windows Update). Now all sorts of strange things are happening. For example, when I try to open many of my forms I get windows 7 error 5 access is denied when starting services the message "The OpenForm action was cancelled". Needlessto say, I have made no changes to the code for any of these forms. When I try to open the most complex form I get the message "Enter Parameter Value", with a text box asking me to enter what is the PK for one of my tables. When I cancel that dialogue box then Im get the "The OpenForm action was cancelled" error.Stranger still, if I set up breakpoints in my code on the lines that specify that particular PK, then my form opens without any problem. IfI then step through the form and press F5 every time I hit a breakpoint then still no problems occur. How on earth does setting a breakpoint kill a bug? I could try uninstalling the Access 2003 Developer Extensions but this is not really a solution as I need the packaging wizard provided by that code. I have already run aRepair process for Access 2003 but that didn't help.I have also checked that my references still include Microsoft Access 11.0 Object Library rather than V12.0 as used by Access 2007. I am serious need of guidance on an urgent basis. David Thursday, January 20, 2011 11:15 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I appear to have made some progress. While following up a totally different Access bug on another PC, I found a reply to an old post in another f

Upon running our Access2003 .MDB and https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/b1849788-4e72-4298-bb01-e4ebf7d6fc61/strange-access-2003-problems-after-moving-to-windows-7?forum=accessdev .MDE email application, and using the code to send smtp email to Outlook is not working and I get this error message "The expression On Open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: Object or class does not support the set of events." To see if I could fix this problem, I created a blank database and imported all of the http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=255394 items into the new database and still received the same error. (On our XP machines we never have any errors) Any suggestions will be appreciated. Anytime apps run fine on one machine and not on another, especially one that has just had Access installed, one the first things you have to think about are Missing References. If they are, you can create a new ODBC DSN or edit the existing one to point to the drivers you want. share|improve this answer answered Mar 6 '11 at 13:37 Thyamine 1,10058 1 Thanks for your reply.I have rerun the setup of office 2003.Its working if I go through C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe –bsm Mar 6 '11 at 19:25 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sig
