Norton An Unexpected Browser Error Occurred
Suite 4.2.0.12 via Comcast, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. For several months, once a month, I've manually run a Comprehensive Scan on NSS in my standard user account. No problems. It's set to do and still does a Quick Scan daily with no problems. Today I go to manually run the Comprehensive Scan, and NSS responds: "Access Denied-- You need to be an Administrator to perform this action." It immediately launches what is apparently some form of a Quick Scan. (If I let it run, it scans about 275,000 files instead of the 1,500,000 it would otherwise scan in Comprehensive.) Of course, I am the Administrator, so I try closing Norton, right-clicking Norton Security Suite, choosing Run as Administrator, enter the Administrator password correctly, which it accepts, go to run a Comprehensive Scan, and get the same message. Rebooting into the standard user doesn't help. Rebooting into the Administrator user account does allow a Co

Norton Unexpected Browser Error
Solved. View accepted solution APK Visitor2 Reg: 02-Nov-2011 Posts: 5 Solutions: 0 Kudos: 0 Kudos0 "Unexpected Error" Posted: 02-Nov-2011 | 9:04AM • 10 Replies • Permalink A few days ago I couldn't get on the internet with Google Chrome, I https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-security-suite-access-denied-you-need-be-administrator got an error screen saying "Error 138 (net::ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED): Unable to access the network." and it tells me this may be due to a firewall blocking it. This never happened before and I only have Norton 360 on my computer. I went to open Norton but nothing happens, tried it 5 or 6 times. Eventually a dialoge box comes up saying an "Unexpected error". So now I cant open norton, or cant use google chrome. To be able to get on https://community.norton.com/en/forums/unexpected-error the internet I made internet explorer my default web browser, but now that can also not open a web page. When I try and troubleshoot it says it cannot find the problem. I've now resorted to using firefox (didnt even realise it was installed on my computer) but i'm just waiting for it too to stop working. Any suggestions?
