Access Denied For User By Pam Account Configuration
Discussions and Questions Question 0 Sign in to vote Just installed a standalone, developer's instance of Sharepoint 2010 on my Windows7 workstation per the instructions outlined in the MSDN article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869(office.14).aspx When I try to click on the Configure service accounts linkon Sharepoint Central Administration site, I get an access denied error. My windows ID is local to the workstation access denied for user by pam account configuration ldap and it has full administrator rights. My Id is in the Farm Administrator's group plus the BUILTIN\Administrators group. Why can't I access this link? Everything else appears to working fine (still testing). Migrated from Windows 2000 ASP.NET 1.1 to Windows 2003, ASP.NET 2.0 and had this error. All the forums/MSDN/Blogs says to give Read/Write Access to C:\Windows\Temp folder. Why should we give Full Access to some folder in Production server?? In windows 2000, ASP.NET 2.0 development machine, no files are created when we run crystal reports from aspx by pam account pages. Then why in Windows 2003 servers, we need to give rights to temp folder?? It is a simple code crReportDocument.Load(Server.MapPath("Project.rpt")); And the code is not storing anything on the disk. Then why should it store the GUID.rpt file in Temp file in Windows 2003 server?? Any alternative is there not to store anything on the disk when Crystal Reports are opened in aspx page?? Is there a golden solution for all farms?. The post talked about how important Service Accounts were in the installation of SharePoint 2013 because if they are not set up correctly they can open big security holes in your organization or give you problems down the road. The article also suggested that you cannot have only one set of Service accounts for every scenario, since not all scenarios require the same security (ex: a development environment does not require same security as the production one). So, I suggested three sets of service accounts for different deployment scenarios of SharePoint 2013, however I got some feedback that my choices and the accounts weren't explained in detail. This post will go over all the three sets of service accounts, explaining the difference between the sets and also what every account does! NOTE: This sets only cover the basic installation and configuration of SharePoint 2013 and SQL. Other Service accounts will be needed for some Service Applications (Ex: Excel, Visio, Performance Point, etc) Low Security Option Summary The Low security option is of course the one with the least accounts possible to install SharePoint in a proper manner. It uses only 1 SQL account that will be the SQL administrator and also run the services, and 5 SharePoint accounts: The Farm Administrator, the Web Application pool account, the SharePoint Service
