the Access Server field on the Security tab of the Server document. If a user receives this error while trying to access a Domino server using HTTP then that means the user is not allowed to access the server. If the user should be allowed access, then a Domino server administrator must adjust the entries in the Access Server field to include that user. where the web server logging is already enabled, administrator sees the below messages on the server console. "HTTP Web Server: Access Denied Exception [/servlet/traveler/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync?User=John Doe&DeviceId=ApplVXXXXXXXXXXXXX&DeviceType=iPad&Cmd=Sync]CN=John Doe/OU=Sales/O=Acme" "HTTP Web Server: Access Denied Exception [/servlet/traveler/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync] CN=John Doe/OU=Sales/O=Acme" Cause The user was accessing the Traveler server using an Apple device and this user http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21194981 was already deleted on the Domino server and was added to the "Deny access" group. The group was restricted to access the Traveler server by adding the "Deny access" group in the Server document under "Not access server". However the user's Traveler profile exists in the databases LotusTraveler.nsf & ntsclcache.nsf and http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21508306 when this user tried to sync with the Traveler server, the error message is shown. Resolving the problem Traveler server keeps the denied user profile for 30 days in inactive state and after that it will be automatically cleaned up. If administrator wants remove denied Traveler user's profile immediately he/she can issue the below commands on the Domino server console. Tell traveler delete * John Doe/Sales/Acme It shows the below output for the above command Command 'delete * John Doe/Sales/Acme' for device ApplXXXXXXXXXXX and user CN=John Doe/OU=Sales/O=Acme completed successfully. Now issue the command 'Show nlcache reset' This command will clear the name lookup cache on the Domino server. A server (6.5.1) in Domain B is set up with directory assistance to provide access denied web authentication with the names.nsf on a server in Domain A (also 6.5.1). When I attempt to browse a database in Domain B it brings up the username/password box, allows me to log in and then gives an "HTTP Web Server: Access Denied Exception" error (Error 500). I have set up the server in Domain B with a group in the "Access Server" field and turned on the "Enforce Server error 500 http Access Settings" option for HTTP. If this latter setting is off I seem to have no problems but I need to restrict server access to a subset of users in the names.nsf of Domain A. What have I managed to screw up here, or am I going about this in completely the wrong way? I'd be grateful for any help. Thanks. Return to top "Access Denied Exception" when auth... your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hi all, I have a problem with Lotus and I don't know how to solve: when a specific user try to access to Lotus Notes via web mail, he receives the following message: Error 500 HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - You are not authorized to access that database Error 500 HTTP Web Server: Lotus Notes Exception - You are not authorized to access that database He doesn't have problem with Lotus Notes client and all the other users don't have this kind of problem. I have checked the mail database properties and they seems ok, the "Don't allow URL open" info is not checked. Do you have any suggestion? Thanks a lot Barbara Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: i have some issue with my lotus notes, error csevennotes i dont knowt what is lotus notes error Lotus notes 8.5.2 desktop8.nlk error   6 Replies Datil OP MHB Nov 2, 2011 at 4:17 UTC We had this issue after we did some renames to users to move them to their correct OU in Domino. We had to manually add the renamed user to their database with editor access. 0 Jalapeno OP Barbara981 Nov 2, 2011 at 5:01 UTC The user sign on via web access until Sunday without problem and on Monday he had the access problem without any changes from the Admin point of view. 0 Mace OP George1421 Nov 2, 2011 at 5:26 UTC This may be only a coincidence on timing. But is this server or the client computer having a timezone problem. In the united states last sunday was the traditional daylight saving time (DST) change. Now DST is next Sunday (I realize you are in the EU). I wonder if the server or the client did not have the timezone patch loaded. This would cause a time difference and SSL to fail. This is only an idea. If you check the clock on the server and the client to ensure they are the same. -geo 0 Jalapeno OP Barbara981 Nov 2, 2011 at 6:06 UTC Hi Geo, we had the time changed between Saturday and Sunday, the problem appears between Sunday and Monday and the user told me that the time was fine. Now I have remove and add again the user in the Access Control, I have checked and unchecked the "Don't allow URL open" option on the database file and now the web access works! I am worried because I don't find the reason of the problem. 0 Datil OP Helpful Post MHB Nov 2, 2011 at 6:47 UTC A few things to check: 1. Internet Password Lockout - see if that user is locked out for some reason (data\inetlockout.nsf) 2. Clear the password digest of the user in question 3. Check the ACL log of the mail fil
