But the "/usr/{share,libexec}/webmin/changepass.pl /etc/webmin root XYZ" did not seem to samba access denied take, it says. usage: changepass.pl This program allows you to change the password of a user in the Webmin password file. For example, to change the password of the admin user to foo, you would run: changepass.pl /etc/webmin admin foo This assumes that /etc/webmin is the Webmin configuration directory. I have tried different things with different errors coming up like changepass.pl is not a command. how do i fix so I can log into https://mydomain.com:10000? If this helps using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Log in or register to post comments #3 Fri, 03/30/2012 - 03:34 Locutus Webmin should initially have been set up with your root user and password, can't you log in with that? With the Amazon Web Service EC2 only a key located on the local disk of the user is used so a password was not set only a username. I also tried using only the login name for webmin that lets me login into SSH but it did not work. Here http://www.virtualmin.com/documentation/instal

know how to disable that message "Error - Access denied for 192.168.1.85" after I setup allow only specific IPs in Webmin->Webmin Configuration->IP Access Control. I just would like to know how to https://www.virtualmin.com/node/21709 just show empty page instead of this message. Silence is gold in this case I'd say. :) I suppose you could edit language files to do that but it's a different story! Is there a normal way of doing it? Thanks again for fantastic product! I can't even think of using CPanel anymore.. I love Webmin & Virtualmin more and more each time I'm using https://www.virtualmin.com/node/25227 it on my test server, and as long as I get myself private server I will get a full time license to appreciate your work! The access denied errors are actually hard coded into Webmin. It's essentially just throwing a "403 forbidden" there, and the Webmin headers being sent would also show it's an access problem (that is, the HTTP headers show what the HTTP status code is). -Eric Log in or register to post comments #3 Tue, 02/05/2013 - 10:58 Ilia Eric, I see! But I would personally like to see it being possible in the future. I don't see why it would be hard to add one more check-mark to IP Access Control section being able to check it in case you want to hide HTTP messages. If you could do it in next release than good. If not, then not. Not that big of a deal! Thanks, Ilia Log in or register to post comments Account Help Privacy Policy Terms and Conditions Site Search

The host has been blocked because of too many authentication failures. My own computer is now blocked, and I can't access webmin at all. Help!
