Do you have a user account "suhail" set up? –Pekka 웃 Jan 7 '13 at 16:26 @Pekka How do I connect to MySql. No –Suhail Gupta Jan 7 '13 at 16:28 You need to connect with an existing account and set up users first. XAMPP creates a default mySQL user account, IIRC it's "root" with no password. –Pekka 웃 Jan 7 '13 at 16:29 @Pekka the same result –Suhail Gupta Jan 7 '13 at 16:31 you can usually manage the users and connection with phpmyadmin: 127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin - you have to start xampp-apache and xampp-mysql first unless it is installed as an active service –Adder Jan 7 '13 at 16:33 | show 2 more comments 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted The message says access denied for suhail @localhost . These could be the issues : The user suhail does not exist at locahost. The password specified is wrong. MySql Server is not started. If it is started the port number is not 3306. These are some of the troubleshoot techniques. Also follow the comments on your question. share|improve this answer answered Jan 10 '13 at 11:52 Y.E.P 46441132 ad

During the security settings portion fo the setup. I keep getting a Connection Error. Error Nr. 1045 Access denied for user'root'@'localhost'(using password:YES) ........ I had Zonealarm running. Changed the trusted zone security setting to low(disabled) then selected "retry" Failed again. Rebooted, turned off Zonealarm, going through configuration wizard I changed the root password to "YES" connection still failed... I'm obviously not crossing a "T" somewhere. I'm a little lost. Thanks in advance. Greg Noss Mar 24 '06 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 3 Replies P: n/a Bill Karwin "Greg Noss"
