I was unable to login to mysql using the mysql console. It is asking for a password and I have no clue what I actually entered.(Is there http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16845715/1045-access-denied-for-user-rootlocalhost-using-password-yes a way to get the password or change it?) This is how my config.inc look. When I try to open phpmyadmin I get this error(#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)) I have tried to uninstall( Plus Deleted all the related files) WAMP and reinstall. It didn't help either. While reinstalling WAMP server it is not asking for any username password stuff I don't know why. Any help is highly appreciated. mysql phpmyadmin localhost port wamp share|improve this question asked May 30 '13 at 20:54 Prakash 1,07121425 Have you tried to move away the database '

I am renting hosting space from hostgator. access denied I created a form that is supposed to take the user's information and put it in the database. I keep on recieving the following error message when I try to submit the form: Failed to open database [1045] SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'username@localhost'@'gator7899.hostgator.com' (using password: YES) I have seen other posts in which people ask the same question but none of the answers given are working for me. Also, username is not my actual username and gator7899 is not access denied for the actual server. For security purposes I did not post them here. Does anyone know how to fix this? mysql database localhost share|improve this question edited Feb 5 '13 at 0:36 Lion 9,638135385 asked Feb 5 '13 at 0:34 Philip7899 1,7591648 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Make sure privledges are assigned in your CPanel -> mysql admin -> add user to database then you need to change your config to be localhost username = username of CPanel password = password of Cpanel share|improve this answer answered Feb 5 '13 at 0:39 Val 364110 I can't find the configuration file in the control panel or in the file directory. Any idea on where it would be? Thank you. –Philip7899 Feb 5 '13 at 0:47 I would look at the page that is displaying the error, look at the code/line where there is a connection to mysql and append the username and password accordingly. –Val Feb 5 '13 at 0:48 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service. Recently, I have been following a manual to install a software suite on Ubuntu. I have no knowledge on mySQL at all, actually. I have done the following installations on my Ubuntu. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.5 sudo apt-get install mysql-client-5.5 sudo apt-get install mysql-common sudo apt-get install glade sudo apt-get install ntp Then I do me@ubuntu:~/Desktop/iPDC-v1.3.1/DBServer-1.1$ mysql -uroot -proot <"Db.sql" I ended up with the following error message. So you can just login as: mysql -u root You should obviously change your root password after installation mysqladmin -u root password [newpassword] In most cases you should also set up individual user accounts before working extensively with the DB as well. Update: For MySQL 5.7+ please see answer from @Anshu to this question. That contains more current information. share|improve this answer edited Aug 29 at 13:40 answered Feb 21 '14 at 20:54 Mike Brant 51.6k54670 Thanks for the quick answer. Could you please explain what the -proot <"Db.sql part does? –Sibbs Gambling Feb 21 '14 at 20:57 @FarticlePilter The -p flag specifies the password, so after you change your root password you would do like mysql -u root -p[newpassword].
