Today I went about converting and burning a 700mb film as usual, but received error reports. The program tells access violation me the resulting conversion in bigger than my DVD5! I rarely investigate converted files since I am in the habit of automatically burning them and deleting once this is successfully done, which it usually is. Looking at the VIDEO_TS file, it is 4.30gb - is this the size the files usually are before they are burnt to disc? In fact this particular file is over 4.30gb (4408gb?), which is why ConvertXtoDVD says it cannot burn correctly. What is going on? I must point error access violation out I did run the AVI file through AVIMUX GUI to fix the audio synch first, but I have done this many times and have checked the new AVI file after AVIMUX has fixed it - it is a normal 691mb (from 696mb before AVIMUX touched it, and I'm assuming this slight reduction in file size is normal). Also, I have viewed some of the large converted VIDEO_TS files and they don't sound right at all - some frequent audio glitches for example that are not present in either the original AVI file or the synched-up AVIMUX GUI one. My log follows - please help! (note: I tried to convert the film twice, and burnt two useless discs- did not bother burning at all once I saw similar errors in the second conversion) EDIT: I have just investigated my full log file of the past few weeks (first time I have felt prompted to look at it), and I see there have been many 'warnings' that have gone unnoticed by me. But, after checking it seems the films that have displayed these warnings have burnt and run fine. So what is, for example: WARNING overflow of DVD5 occupation 100.18%, WARNING 31 Frames duplicated, WARNING 25000 frames dropped ('no pulldown' causes this?)!? These do not sound good, I am very curious to know what these all mean and if I should be - or even can be - doing anything about it to achieve optimum conversion quality. T
