Topic: Acrobat Distiller printer http://www.planetpdf.com/forumarchive/160465.asp error message Conf: (P-PDF) What's Wrong with my PDF?, Msg: 160465 From: Raeka8 Date: 5/31/2007 10:01 AM I have Adobe Acrobat 4.0 which always worked great on my Windows 98. I think it used to work on my XP after I got a new computer. I have XP windows now, and although my Word shows the Adobe icon on the toolbar, if I click it acrobat distiller in an open Word document, it starts to try to convert the document but then immediately I get the following message: "PDFMaker cannot locate the Acrobat Distiller printer driver. Please re-install Adobe Acrobat 4.0." I also tried opening the Adobe first, then opening the word doc from that environment and it starts to try to open the .doc file and fails. In the text acrobat distiller error box it states on the line before the failed message, "Acrobat Distiller Printer not defined." Next line: "Transformation failed." Next line: "Process failed." 2. Select any printer.
3. Right click->Properties.
4. Click Ports.
5. Do you see a "PDF Port"? If so, delete it.
6. Uninstall Acrobat (Add/Remove programs).
7. Add any PostScript driver with the ADD PRINTER icon. Suggest: Apple LaserWriter IINTX.
8. Reinstall Acrobat.
If you want PDFWriter too, you have to do a custom install. } I tried that but after re-installing Adobe, it still did not change anything. I did not uninstall my printer and I wasn't sure what they were talking about with the postscript driver. Maybe that's another product. Any suggestions would be
