When the Support Tools are loaded, the active directory mmc command line Adsiedit.dll is made available to the system. When the Adsiedit.dll is available, Active Directory Users and Computers and Active Directory Sites and Sevices will use that Adsiedit.dll. Thus, the Adsiedit.dll is the problem. Rename that Adsiedit.dll is a workaround. A quick solution is to run the Hotfix as following: In an Active Directory forest that is running a Windows Server 2008 schema, the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC snap-in may crash when you open the Properties dialog box for a user object from a Windows Server 2003 member server http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946459 Error message when you use MMC 3.0: "MMC has detected error in a snap-in" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/915797 Thanks for Syed’s sharing.
