of AD replication error that might be available or faced in your organization. I always run this replication summary, "Repadmin /Replsummary" and gets the output below: how to force active directory replication The error above is (8456) The source server is currently rejecting replication active directory replication command requests. when I go to the URL link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2023007, there are helpful for me to troubleshoot. I have active directory replication server 2012 followed some steps to troubleshoot and solution: 1. I have checked the possible cause of this. I checked the registry to check the status on "DSA not Writable". Run Regedit. Go https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2023007 to the HKLM -> System -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> NTDS -> Paramaters. On Setting DSA Not Writable. Check the value and I capture the screenshot below: The DSA Not Writable is set to 4. When checking on the table of link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2023007, it shows and means that USN Rollback occurred. The active directory was incorrectly roll back due to cause following below: - https://netoverme.wordpress.com/2012/11/26/error-ad-replication-8456-the-source-server-is-currently-rejecting-replication-requests/ snapshot of Virtual Machine was taken or was saved on previous snapshot. - Restoring DC on using Imaging such as Norton Ghost. 2. I also checked the Event Viewer on Directory Service. The Event ID 1308 shows the failure of the replication. 3. I have no choice to decommission the affected domain controller by using DCPROMO /ForceRemoval. 4. After I successfully forced removal of the affected domain controller, I then use the Metadata cleanup to remove the domain controller. Check the url link - > https://netoverme.wordpress.com/2011/06/03/metadata-cleanup-in-windows-2003/ 5. After that, remove the server record in DNS, Active Directory Site and Services. 6. On the affected server (previous affected domain controller), I then promote back to become a domain controller to have multiple domain controller. I will update more on any kind of possible solution. Thank you. Like this:Like Loading... 1, 2013 The other day I noticed that my Windows Server 2012 Datacenter was not accepting replication requests. In fact, it was rejecting both inbound and outbound replication. https://blog.zubairalexander.com/error-the-destination-server-is-currently-rejecting-replication-requests/ The way I discovered the problem was that I was unable to connect to a couple of Windows Server 8 Enterprise computers that I just added to the network in Remote Desktop https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28500090/Error-AD-Replication-8456-The-source-server-is-currently-rejecting-replication-requests.html Connection Manager v2.2. I was getting the DNS error. I first tried to flush the DNS cache (IPconfig /flushdns) at the command prompt and then tried a few other things. When I active directory looked at one Domain Controller (DC) it had the DNS records of the new computers but the other one didn't. The DNS servers on both these DCs were Active Directory-integrated. I tried to manually force the replication and discovered that Windows Server 2012 wasn't accepting replication. This is where I started to troubleshoot the replication problem. Troubleshooting I ran DCDIAG on the problem DC using active directory replication the following switches. /v: Verbose - Print extended information /c: Comprehensive, runs all tests, including non-default tests but excluding DcPromo and RegisterInDNS. /s: Use

The DSA Not Writable is set to 4, the USN Rollback occurred Error AD Replication: (8456) The source server is currently rejecting replication requests i have no choice have to decommission the affected domain controller by using DCPROMO /ForceRemoval. but this is the exchange server, i dont think it is a good idea to decommission the DC which has exchange 2010 running, any better way to do that ? or i should resize the fsmo to the exchange dc server ? 0 Question by:piaakit Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 34 Active today Best Solution byMahesh Even you may manage to do that by copying database and logs to another server, but its not seems perfect way to do that and don't know what complications it may create Go to Solution 9 Comments LVL 34 Overall: Level 34 Windows Server 2008 22 Exchange 11 Message Active today Expert Comment by:Mahesh2014-08-18 How many Exchange servers do you have? Its not advisable to demote DC when exchange is installed, it will break Exchange If you have multiple Exchange servers, you should decommission Exchange server 1st and then demote server forcefully , promote it with some different name again 0 LVL 14 Overall: Level 14 Windows Server 2008 4 Exchange 1 Message Expert Comment by:Brad Groux2014-08-18 This kind of issue is exactly why Installing Exchange on a Domain Controller is Not Recommended. Unfortunately the best way to recover from a USN rollback is to decommission the DC and then rebuild and promote it. Otherwise you will need to recover from a system state backup if once is available, but obviously some Exchange data will be los
