Video Activex Object Error
Print Email to a Friend Report to a Moderator I've already searched into the forum, but none of the suggestions help me; the problem is easy to reproduce, so I hope someone could help me...I compiled and created a build for the example \userint\activex\webbrowser supplied with cvi 9.0.This example works fine (in debug mode, if I launch the release and if I install the build) but ONLY on the machines where CVI 9.0 is installed. If I install on a fresh WinXP Pro SP3 with Internet Explorer 7.0 the program crashes with ActiveX Control Error -143.The same crash even if I use a fresh WinXP Pro SP2 with IE 6.0, and WinXP Pro SP2 with IE updated to 7.0 version. How can I have the webbrowser example working on machines without CVI 9.0 development system? LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>LabWindows/CVI Full Development System Primary Software Version: 7.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: LabWindows/CVI Development Systems>>LabWindows/CVI Base Package Problem: Why do I get error code -145: Error -145: ActiveX controller not registered in this computer Solution: You get this error code when a DLL is not found for a Microsoft Form control used in a CVI panel. Any one of the following solutions can be used. In the first solution you should manually http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabWindows-CVI/CVI-9-0-ActiveX-Control-Error-143/td-p/903077 register the DLL, and in the second solution the DLL will be registered when you download the ActiveX Control Pad from Microsoft's website.Solution 1: You must make sure the client computers have the same operating system as the server. While creating the distribution kit, make sure you check both the Install Active X Container Support and Register http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/9894BE2B832B7FDE86256ECD00041172 files as ActiveX servers in the Create Distribution Kit dialog. Make sure the client computer has the necessary DLL file. i.e. the DLL file for the specific ActiveX control. For example, if you use Microsoft Forms 2.0 scroll bars then make sure the FM20.DLL is present on the client computer. If not, the specific DLL file must be copied to the client computer. After copying the file to the client computer, you must manually register the DLL file as described in KnowledgeBase [1HBAMMSR]: How Do I Manually Register Type Libraries, ActiveX Controls, and ActiveX Servers? Solution 2:FM20.DLL is a Microsoft Form ActiveX component that is registered only when Microsoft Office is installed. If a Microsoft Forms control is used in a CVI panel, then registration of this DLL is needed. This is further explained on the Microsoft Support webpage. The DLL can be registered by downloading Microsoft's ActiveX Control Pad and installing this application on the target computer. This registers the FM20.DLL component without the need to install Microsoft Office. You
Browser control in CVI 8.1.1. The uir loads fine http://natinst.public.labwindows-cvi.general.narkive.com/uErmMPtN/activex-control-error-143 without the activex control otherwise. I generated the ActiveX control driver by right clicking on the ActiveX control and clicking https://books.google.com/books?id=tvDJ-VP-ykUC&pg=PT493&lpg=PT493&dq=cvi+activex+control+error&source=bl&ots=ccFjGX4oGy&sig=OH-mrCOnASXpLP5Gm5dqh3Gxc0E&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiriIL1tb3PAhVI1mMKHX_oAvkQ6AEIZDAJ Generate... tried everything but making an alligator shake. Noah herosphro 2008-06-23 16:40:15 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Hello Noah,This error usually occurs activex control when the ActiveX control can't be found or is an older version than the program is expecting. Are you running this program on the development PC? This shouldn't happen on the development PC, so if it is we activex control error need to investigate further. We could try making a simple test program with another ActiveX driver. Also which version of the Web Browser control are you using and are we doing any multithreading? If this error is occurring on a non-development machine then we should be able to register the ActiveX library on that PC and it should get rid of the error. Please reply with this and any more information you feel appropriate and we can try to get this sorted out for you. 1 Reply 23 Views Switch to linear view Disable enhanced parsing Permalink to this page Thread Navigation ewingnoah 2008-06-19 19:10:11 UTC herosphro 2008-06-23 16:40:15 UTC about - legalese Loading...
