An Ad-Aware SE warning reading "Error retrieving updates" was popping up when performing a web update. It interrupted at 5% download completion. This has been resolved. Lavasoft advises all Ad-Aware SE Personal users experiencing this problem to uninstall your previous version and then download the new installation file. All Ad-Aware SE Plus and Professional users are asked to please log into the Lavasoft Support Center and fill in a technical support form. You will then be sent details on how to fix the problem. If so follow the steps below:----------------------------------------------------------------------------Here is the temporary fix that we have come up with for the current update issues.Win XPClick Start then run and type or copy and paste the following into the textbox:"%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware ad aware and 2007\"Press "Enter"This should open the Ad-Aware 2007 folder. Locate "settings.aaw", right click the file and select "Delete".Next run Ad-Aware 2007 when the program opens click "Settings" on the left side of the screen. Click "Read Settings" then click "Save Settings".This will create a new clean "settings.aaw" file and should allow Ad-Aware 2007 to work properly.Sadly, any settings you had set will be lost and you will have the default settings. Change your settings back to the way you prefer and click "Save Settings" again. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.----------------------------------------------------------------------------If you still have Ad-Aware SE:Ad-Aware SE has expired effective Dec. 31 2007. Update your program to the new version: Ad-Aware 2007INSTALLATIONDownload/locate the Ad-Aware 2007 installation file: (aaw2007.exe or aaw2007.msi).Double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions in the Installation Wizard to install.Click 'Finish' to complete the installation and to launch Ad-Aware 2007.The registration dialog will pop up and prompt you for your serial number. Enter your Serial number and click 'OK'.The program will start and automatically look for updates. If you are using an older version a couple of Dialog windows will pop up*.*
