I set my sid to default orcl. Looking at the tnsnames.ora file it looks like my hostname is orcl as well. I try to log in through sql developer with userid: system and a password that I created during installation (which works for sql*plus). When I enter orcl in the feilds for sid and hostname and also using system as username and my password. I get the error: Failure -lo exception: The Netword Adapter could not establish the connection ********Additional Info *********** C:\Documents and Settings\John>lsnrctl stat LSNRCTL for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.1.0.6.0 - Production on 13-APR-2009 02:06 :37 Copyright (c) 1991, 2007, Oracle.
