So the installation stalls right there. When I open the Gparted, from the toolbar, Gparted opens and states "No devices found".It does see the cd/rom drive and its contents but nothing else. The system is http://gparted-forum.surf4.info/viewtopic.php?id=14509 new, the motherboard is a GIGABYTE X58A-UD3R, and the hard drive is a SATA 1TB seagate.I used windows disk management to shrink the C: drive to 600Gb. With the rest as unallocated. My cd live boot disk is good, I downloaded it using a torrent today, and checked it using Md5 checksum. The torrent was recommended by http://members.iinet.net.au/~herman546/p23.html. I haven't been able to find a similar problem on these or the ubuntu forums. Thanks, so much for any help. 2 Reply by gedakc 2010-12-30 18:49:18 gedakc Developer Offline Registered: 2007-11-30 Posts: 4,100 Re: No devices found Would you be able to provide the output from the following two commands?fdisk -l -uwhere one of the options is a lower case "L" and not the number one.parted /path-to-your-device unit s printwhere /path-to-your-device is something like /dev/sda. 3 Reply by Mojoshine 2010-12-30 23:37:25 Mojoshine New member Offline Registered: 2010-12-30 Posts: 5 Re: No devices found The first command returned nothing. The second command I tried was as followsparted /dev/sda unit s printReturnedWarning: You are not superuser. Driver Android Composite ADB Interface, version 8.0.0.0, works fine. My adb won't list any devices (adb.exe devices). I no device found tried: installed Google USB driver enabled debugging mode in phone added my device's hardware IDs to the Google USB driver inf file and installed installed Moborobo (phone works fine in there but adb still won't find the device) tried switch Settings > Storage > Menu > USB Computer connection to "Camera (PTP)" tried two different version of adb (1.0.31 and 1.0.26) Those were some of the advices I found so far. adb usb-debugging usb-drivers share|improve this question edited Oct 24 '13 at 11:07 Dan Hulme♦ 27.5k854103 asked Oct 24 '13 at 7:17 Kraken 6124 1 Maybe you try Koush's Universal ADB driver. In many similar cases, this brought the relief. Unfortunately not in all, but in many at least – so worth a try. –Izzy♦ Oct 24 '13 at 7:25 Sadly, that didn't help, thank you for your help though! It claims that the driver is already installed –Kraken Oct 24 '13 at 7:36 You might have to uninstall the other one first. –Izzy♦ Oct 24 '13 at 9:03 I did and the driver works fine but still no device :/ –Kraken Oct 24 '13 at 10:28 Sorry, then I'm out of ideas. I don't use Windows. –Izzy♦
