Be sure the destination file is not read-only or opened by another application. Also, check that the file name is not too long. This error pops up constantly, and occasionally does not pop up at all. I sometimes find myself hammering Alt+Shift+F12 for twenty times before I get "through". I've seen a number of past topics on this issue, but none of the solutions presented in there seemed permanent solutions. Does anyone have any idea? It's killing productivity, really. Thanks in advance. 8816Views Tags: none (add) errorContent tagged with error, exportContent tagged with export, flash_cs5.5Content tagged with flash_cs5.5 This content has been marked as final. Scenario: We https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018317 are in a shared environment. Central file server (Mac OS X server) over gigabit enet. We open flash files over the network and then we "try" to publish the files back to the same server in which the .fla is stored. (I have read John at Adobe's comments on the practice but this DID work). So we access the flash file at /Volumes/ServerName/JobFolder/~Flash/ and we "attempt to" publish the .swf to http://flash.bigresource.com/actionscript-3-Adobe-Flash-Error-creating-flash-movie-file-Destination-directory-doesn-039-t-exist--eLVdd5vtd.html /Volumes/ServerName/JobFolder/htmlfolder/flash .... this was working previously in flash 6-7 but in 8-cs3 it has stopped working and we are kicking ourselves to get some answers. When we try to publish we get the following error: "Error creating Flash movie file. Be sure the destination is not locked or on a locked drive. I have been able to confirm that it's not anything to do with locked files/drives, permissions, or file name length. It happens with files created elsewhere (by other developers) that I've modified, and it happens with files I start from scratch - I can create a new FLA on my desktop and it won't publish. Sometimes (but not always), publishing to a different directory than the one the FLA is in will work. This is becoming a big problem. I'm o
