At first it was getting to 54%, but following some advice on the forums I tried deleting the contents of C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash, nx now it only goes up to 52%. Following some other advice I tried deleting FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl in C:\Windows\SysWOW64, with no noticeable results. Each time I attempt to reinstall the files come back.My (mostly empty cause I deleted the old one, duh) log file reads:=O====== M/11.1.102.62 2012-03-02+13-12-54.793 ========0000 [I] 00000010 "C:\Users\YoungCharles\AppData\Local\Temp\install_flash_player_64bit.exe" -dlm -install0001 [I] 00000020 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl0002 [W] 00001036 Software\Opera Software/Last CommandLine 20003 [W] 00001036 Software\Opera Software/Last CommandLine 20004 [W] 00001036 Software\Opera Software/Plugin Path 20005 [W] 00001036 Software\Opera Software/Plugin Path 20006 [I] 00000014 C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF64_11_1_102.dll0007 [I] 00000015 C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil64_11_1_102_Plugin.exe0008 [I] 00000019 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl0009 [I] 00000011 1=X====== M/11.1.102.62 2012-03-02+13-12-57.168 ======== I'm running Firefox 10 on Windows 7, 64bit.Any help would be greatly appreci

SimonLDN Level 1 (0 points) Q: Abobe Flash Player 11 - General Installation Error I understand that Apple have released Adobe Flash Player updates available for OS X on February 7, 2013. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655) which means that any Flash content in Safari will not work without installing the latest version of Flash Player 11.5.502.149. However this will not install on Lion 10.7.5 without https://forums.adobe.com/thread/970017 the General Installation Error message coming up, any ideas? Have completely uninstall Flash Player and restarted both computers and nothing. Have repaired Disk Permissions, and still nothing. Connected the computer straight to the ethernet and not wireless internet, but again nothing. This is getting pass the point of simply frustrating. Please I would appreciate if you can provide any other solutions. of Flash on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Installer starts fine, but fails at 50% after downloading the required http://blueskyworkshop.blogspot.com/2013/04/cant-install-flash-on-os-x-mountain.html software. Steps: Download Flash installer. Mount disk image. Run Flash installer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8aG6e_hfQU Enter password to allow installation. Installer downloads installation files. At 50% progress, installation begins. Installer stops at this point with Error: General installation error Analysis: The installation starts a second process or app. When that app attempts to launch the proper rights have not been passed to adobe flash it (some sort of bug). Thus, the installer can't write to the disk and fails. I am not 100% sure that is the problem, just my guess. Solution: You have to run as superuser and launch the app from the command line to get it to work. If you are uncomfortable doing this find a techie friend to help adobe flash player you. In a nutshell, after starting the installer (mounting the disk image) you need to launch ./"Install Adobe Flash Player" from /Volumes/Adobe Flash Player Installer/Install Adobe Flash Player.app/Contents/MacOS Steps: Make sure the Flash disk image is mounted on your desktop. If it isn't, double click on the .dmg file you downloaded from Adobe. Open the Terminal app from Applications -> Utilities Type sudo bash Enter your password. You are now superuser cd "/Volumes/Adobe Flash Player Installer/Install Adobe Flash Player.app/Contents/MacOS" Enter pwd and make sure you are in the correct directory. You should see: /Volumes/Adobe Flash Player Installer/Install Adobe Flash Player.app/Contents/MacOS To launch the installer type: ./"Install Adobe Flash Player" As you can see, not for the feint of heart.
