meanwhile, you can download placeholder PDFs from the Help Manager utility. These placeholder PDFs resolve the error codes that customers see until the final PDFs are available. To download the placeholder PDFs, open http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2012/07/photoshop-basic-troubleshooting-steps-to-fix-most-issues.html the Adobe Help utility from the Applications folder. Once the utility has launched, click the Download button in the General Settings preferences pane. After the interim PDFs are downloaded, the Help Manager unzips the files and place them in the proper directory. This process can take a few minutes, depending on the size of the download and the number of PDFs. You can now quit or https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/help-manager-troubleshoot-error-codes.html exit the Help Manager. The next time you launch Help and you do not have an Internet connection, the appropriate product PDF file opens in Adobe Reader or similar PDF-rendering software. You can also choose to view the PDF by default by changing the "Display Local Help content only" preference to "Yes." For details, see the same screenshot above. When the final PDF Help files are delivered in June 2012, you will receive a notification from the Help Manager letting you know that updated PDFs are ready for download. Repeat the Download process to update the content to your local computer. OK... this is REALLY bizarre..... about a week ago I got this error while trying to https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/photoshop-error-message/2596 save a file under Photoshop CS. It happened once... then went away. The very next day... I got the same error while trying to open any (and I mean) any file in adobe photoshop Photoshop... I'm talking new files or old files, JPEG's, PNG's, TIFF's, etc. I deleted preferences, settings, all of that. Tried booting up without plugs installed, etc. All of the things one would typically go through to fix the problem. I even went so far as to remove every single Adobe application from my box (and all of their related support files) and reinstall everything. Exact photoshop error message same error. Then... intermittently... I could open or save files again... just to have it go back to the same problem as before. This was really bugging me. I then decided to try and run Photoshop that was sitting on another workstation via the network... exact same error. But even stranger than this is... that Photoshop that was running PERFECTLY previous to all of this... no longer works either!! It now shows up with the same error. Really, really bizarre. Anyone else have this issue?Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: "Could not complete your request because of a program error."by IsabelleVt on Aug 28, 2005 at 5:04:11 pmI started getting the same message yesterday when I tried to save some .psd files I had been working on. Couldn't find a way to get around it and lost them. I replaced the Preferences file with a backup copy I keep on my desktop and all worked as it should until later in the day when I tried to "save as" a file and got the same message. I tried just "save" and that worked. I don't know what is happening (or why),
use move tool because the target channel is hidden. It wont let me move anything or change anything. Now I don't even have the channels menu open and the eye icon is on every layer. So I'm confused as to what I may have done and how to I undo it. I tryed pressing back in the undo key, but it didn' t help. Anyone have any ideas?? Jodi :0) kish 2006-05-22 22:36:15 UTC #2 try opening up the channels menu to see whats going on. maybe you selected a single channel inadvertantly by using a keystroke. sasquash 2006-05-22 23:26:23 UTC #3 I did open up the channels, all the eye icons are there as well. I found it will let me, at least move and edit and particular layer, but I have tohave the channels window open and select all the channels first then move or edit. It's weird I've never had this happen before and I don't deal with the channels window all that much. Dark_Tranquility 2006-05-23 06:33:45 UTC #4 Try this:Windows >> Channels you will see a layer in the channels palette called Quick Mask. remove it! I mean the problem may be due to selecting 'Edit in Quick Mask Mode' tool, you have to work in the 'Standard Mode' Hope this is it linkin99 2006-05-23 14:25:16 UTC #5 /\--- I'm sure it is..I tried duplicating his problem and I got the same error.sasquash, do you have any layer masks in the channels view? If you do, you can either delete them, or hide them in the channels view, then go back to layers view and click on the layer thumbnail that you want to move, then try moving it with move tool. You probably had a layer mask on the layer you were trying to manipulate for this error to come up. mypointofview 2006-07-06 03:40:02 UTC #6 Hey you guys rock.
