crash, but fortunately I have auto-save and it actually saved a minute before it crashed. after effects missing files how to find When I try to open the auto-save it comes up with the error 33::4 "missing data in file". Oddly enough, every auto-save after effects autosave folder project I have for this one says the same thing (all 30 of them) The original file opens fine. Is there a way to fix this mess, I have a good 4 hours of work I would rather not do again.Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: Error 33::4 How can I fix this?by Sean Mullen on Sep 27, 2011 at 3:14:46 pmJerry, Can you try importing the project instead of opening it? Try opening a clean project and importing the auto-saved project (so it's a folder in the new project). Try pressing Caps Lock while doing this, which might keep AE from doing any calculations so you can identify the corrupt file or composition. Spin around 10 times. Try again. Please please please help I do not know where to turn!! I am trying to open a project made 4 months ago on a PC in AE6.5. Each time I try to open it i get the message: After Effects error: missing data in file. (33::4) AE is operating fine otherwise and opens earlier projects to this one. I have followed the advice of opening while holding the shift key - same result. I have deleted the preferences file - still no good. I have tried to open it from a different computer - still no joy. I have re-installed AE with no result. The thing is, I need to get a composition from this project so does anyone have any other suggestions to get this file opened? pukkascott_thomas sponsored links 2 13th August 04:04 andrew_yoole External User Posts: 1 Missing data in file - error 33::4. If not, the file may be too seriously corrupted to save. andrew_yoole 3 13th August 04:04 pukkascott_thomas External User Posts: 1 Missing data in file - error 33::4.
