CauseThe SSL certificate installed on the Access Gateway appliance does not come from a Trusted Root Certificate Authority (CA).Resolution1. Save the SSL certificate from the Access Gateway if a self-signed certificate was used. Otherwise obtain the root certificate from the internal CA if an internally generated certificate was used. 2. Add the SSL certificate to the Trusted Root CA store on the Web Interface server(s). Alternatively, you can purchase a third-party certificate from a source that is included in the Trusted Root CA store by default.Note: Self-signed certificates have been known to cause issues in the past and are not recommended for production use.More InformationCTX109260 - How to Generate and Install a Public SSL Certificate on a NetScaler Appliance Special Note This paper source for all Citrix.com after translation Translation copyright holders. balancing, SSL transactions, and, of course, Access Gateway traffic. In order to migrate our existing Access Gateway (NetScaler Gateway?) sites over to the new platform, I basically did a configuration copy from https://feedthehamster.wordpress.com/2014/07/30/access-gateway-web-interface-error/ one device to the other. Then, when I was ready to do a https://www.cibengineering.com/blog/xenapp-web-interface-management/ cut-over, I just re-IPed the existing virtual server with a bogus IP address, and took over the IP on the new virtual server. It was all fairly straightforward and easy to execute. I ran into a problem with our Presentation Server 4.5 / Web Interface 5.4 gateway. After making the flip, an error I would get an "Access Denied: Contact your System Administrator" error when authenticating. The following error appeared int he event logs on my web servers: A communication error occurred while attempting to authenticate with the Advanced Access Control authentication service at "https://yourdomainhere/CitrixAuthService/AuthService.asmx”. Check the authentication service is running. The following message was provided by the underlying platform: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not while attempting to establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.". After a lot of trial and error, I found that the issue was with the Verisign intermediate CA certificate. Somehow, the certificate link didn't get copied over with the rest of my configuration. To update it on NS10.1 firmware, I took the following steps: Expand Traffic Management -> SSL -> Certificates Right-click on the certificate linked to your access gateway site Click Link Link to your intermediate CA Click OK This ended up resolving the issue for me. I had a similar issue with our XenApp 6 gateway, but without the accompanying error message in the web server event log. That turned out to be user error, as i forgot to re-IP the interface for the HTTP/HTTPS redirect at the same IP address. So each NetScaler thought it owned the IP. It produced the same "Access Denied" error message, but it was resolved simply by moving both virtual servers to the new platform. Share this:TwitterFacebookLike this:Like Loading... there is an initiative underway to migrate from one domain where the "old" cirtificate exists to the "new" domain where we need to be. There are many different types of configurations that could be at play here, but in this specific instance we have recently updated the SSL cirtificate for our NetScaler VPX device and now need to update the Web Interface URL's as we are getting very strange errors and access denied messages. Here are a few of the errors our users are getting: Source > Citrix Web Interface, Type > Error, Event ID: 18001 Error Description: A communication error occurred while attempting to contact the Access Gateway authentication service at https://./CitrixAuthService/AuthService.asmx. Check that the authentication service is running. The message reported by the underlying platform was The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.. [Unique Log ID: 924***0] The above error can be quite misleading but what its telling us is that the ‘name' address linked to the SSL Cirtificate we recently updated via the NetScaler device has changed. This would make sense because this would naturally happen when we move domains or change improperly issue a cirtificate with the wrong virtual server hostname. Or - we have successfully updated the SSL Cert, but have not updated the authentication service URL on our web interface server. Now to correct this error simply do the following. Logon to the server hosting the web interface. This would be the url you are pointing to via Acess Gateway on the NetScaler. Got to Start > Programs > Citrix > Management Consoles > and click on Citrix Web Interface Management to launch the MMC. Once the console successfully starts, expand Citrix Web Interface and then click on XenApp Web Sites. Select the Site URL your Access Gateway is using and right-click and select "authentication method" Now review the "Authentication Service U
