This group was actually established many months ago and set up into CMC at that time, prior to any members being assigned to the group. Now we are getting ready for users to work with InfoView, and the User Group doesn't seem to be registering properly. In the CMC, when I go to Home/Groups/ and select my group, then go to the "Users" tab, I receive this error message: There was an error while retrieving data from the server: NT Authentication failed to get the members of the group with ID "S-1-5-21-664290670-206467230-137390319-52916". If the problem persists, please delete this group and re-map it into BusinessObjects Enterprise, then try again. I have gone into the CMC section Authentication/Windows NT and attempted to delete and re-map the group, but I am unable to do so. It appears initially as though the group deletes properly ("Delete" and then "Update"), but then, even after logging off and back on as an Administrator, when I try to add it again I receive this message and the account will eventually start showing up again: Error updating Windows NT authentication properties: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder. Any ideas on how to get around this issue and get my users up and running? Thanks! for support There's a couple key pieces of info I always need: The MediaWiki version you are using The LdapAuthentication extension version you are using I very often will need to see two other things when you ask for support, so you should have them prepared: Your configuration, with sensitive stuff snipped out The extension's debug log, with sensitive stuff snipped out When you are trying to debug an authentication problem, you should always use the most basic configuration possible. For instance, http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?p=471166 if you don't have basic authentication working yet, you shouldn't have group restrictions or group synchronization enabled yet. I will generally ask you to disable these things when debugging. Also, $wgLDAPUseLocal is almost never what you want to use. It's a frequent cause of configuration issues, and unless you really know what you are doing, it should not be https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension_talk:LDAP_Authentication set (or explicitly set to false, which is the default). Most importantly of all: ensure you are using the newest version of the extension. From the extension distributor, that's the "master" version. If you are using git, just make sure you use git pull && git reset --hard origin/master. This is one of the more common cause of problems.
