Messages: 18,269 Joined: Jan 20, 2002 Win7 I moved the files to a different share by themselves and it worked. I had two computers backed up to the same share folder. I am going to try putting each computer in their own folders and see if that works. I see no mention of having to separate the files for each machine. I setup a shared folder called backup and used backup and restore to backup two of my computers to that folder. The backup worked but when i went to do a system restore it would give me strange errors like "an internal error occurred shile enumerating backup sets”. I changed it so that within

I get the error "An internal error has occurred while enumerating backup sets". I've tried using a Windows 7 repair disk, and that at least identifies the backup. The Vista disk, however, doesn't. I have other backups on the external hard drive that I'm using (all for Windows 7), so could that be the problem? This is what I get when I select "Windows Complete PC Restore" on the Windows Vista repair disk: http://imgur.com/IT9XP6r This is what I get when I select the backup I'm looking for, but on a Windows 7 repair disk: http://imgur.com/gdAAdKz Is there something I can do to get past this error? Or is there some other software that I can use to restore this backup? Solved Restoring Server 2008 and cannot find backup set directory on media Posted on 2010-03-01 Windows Server 2008 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 2,411 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-09 I made a complete backup of my system on Friday and Friday afternoon it went south. I'm running Windows Server 2008 with SQL 2005. When I try to do a complete PC Restore under the System Recovery Options on the install disk it gives me the following error, "An internal error occurred while enumerating backup sets". I've tried numerous searches for a remedy and have come up with nothing that works. I also tried running a recovery from DOS and it doesn't want to see my backups for some reason. Anyone have any ideas on what I should try next? UPDATE- I've gotten it to show the versions I have saved of my different backups. I tell it to restore to a specific backup, it asks me if I'm sure I want to do this, I type "Y" and hit enter, it then thinks about it for a minute and tells me it can't find the backup set directory on the media. Anyone have any ideas on this? 0 Question by:blitzone Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 46 Active today Best Solution bynoxcho Did you ever modify the backup structure manually?
