a Service Our Company Work Here Contact Us HomeInfrastructure Cameron Fuller June 13, 2012 Infrastructure No Comments Tweet App Advisor failing when opening the console (#SCOM, #SYSCTR) In both my lab environment and one of my client environments we were receiving access denied messages or error messages when we attempted to open the Application Advisor console shown below: In one environment we were receiving an event code 3005: An unhandled exception has occurred in the application log. When opening the console we were receiving this message: (An error has occurred. The additional error information can be found in the Windows Application Log. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this temporary service outage.). Based on the following link: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/operationsmanageravicode/thread/8e8fcfc5-68f8-4616-aa55-e96ce2a49b74 we decided to make a change to the application pool for OperationsManagerAppMonitoring to run as NetworkService (as shown below). After making this change and performing an IISreset, we were able to log into the Application Advisor console on each environment without any further errors. Summary: Permission denied error when accessing the Application Advisor console? Check what account is the identity for the website. If it’s not NetworkService set it to NetworkService, IISreset and retry. time tonight to troubleshoot the problem and post it up here. The issue relates to theVisio add-in for System Center 2012 - Operations Manager (SCOM/OpsMgr 2012) and the fact that in some cases, it simply doesn't load into Visio as it should do. Typically, in my lab or test environments, if I am configuring theVisio and SharePoint integration of SCOM 2012 using the 'Visio 2010 and SharePoint 2010 Extensions for System Center 2012', I would download the file, unzip it and then run the Visio add-in installer onthe http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/cfuller/archive/2012/06/13/app-advisor-failing-when-opening-the-console-scom-sysctr/ computer that was running Visio 2010Professional or Premium edition. Generally, this would install without any issues and as soon as I open up Visio, the integration tab for Operations Manager is available. In some instances however, after the Visio add-in installer completed successfully, when I opened up Visio, the add-in wouldn't launch at all. To troubleshoot, I opened up the Add-Ins tab from the File http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html > Options menu inside Visio as below When I clicked on the Go button to manage the COM Add-Ins, I was presented with a screen similar to the one below. I could also see from that screen that the Load Behavior was configured to 'Load at Startup', which means that I shouldn't have to do anything for the Add-In to start. If I clicked on the check box for the add-in and then chose the OK button, the window would simply close with no warning and when I went back into it, I could see that the Load Behavior message had changed to the following: Load Behavior: Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in. The solution to this problem in the end was actually quite simple. I found that the error tended to only occur when I was installing the add-in onto a server that had Visio installed on it as opposed to a client pc or laptop. In my lab/demo environments, I would normally just deploy Visio onto one of my SCOM management servers and enable the 'Desktop Experience' feature to allow for uploading graphics to SharePoint. If I

You can enable Firehose error logging in the Firehose console when you create your delivery stream or through the CloudWatchLoggingOptions configuration of the Firehose CreateDeliveryStream operation. If you enable Firehose error logging in the Firehose console, an internal error a log group and corresponding log streams are created for the delivery stream on your behalf. The log group name follows the pattern of /aws/kinesisfirehose/delivery_stream_name

is the corresponding delivery stream name. The log stream name follows the pattern of S3Delivery, RedshiftDelivery, or ElasticsearchDelivery, depending on the delivery destination. For example, if you create a delivery stream "MyStream" with Amazon Redshift as the destination and enable Firehose error logging in the Firehose console, a log group named aws/kinesisfirehose/MyStream and two log streams named S3Delivery and RedshiftDelivery, respectively, are created on your behalf. In this example, log stream S3Delivery is used for logging errors related to delivery failure to the intermediate S3 bucket, and log stream RedshiftDelivery is used for logging errors related to delivery failure to your Amazon Redshift cluster. If you enable Firehose error logging through the CloudWatchLoggingOptions configuration of the Firehose CreateDeliveryStream oper
