No, I have not done anything. 2- Also I noticed that I can not run into safe mode by using F8 key option, but I can run into safe mode through start-->msconfig-->BOOT.INI-->/SAFEBOOT 3- I also tried (normal mode) to use start-->cmd-->chkdsk C:/f and then chkntfs C:/X, but I could not get it run.Am I using right command for NTFS type ? 4- I was able to run the chkdsk C:/f (not normal mode) from witin safe mode. 5- partition for win2003 is C: and partition type is NTFS Last edited by zillah; 12-31-2006 at 04:57 AM. Restart Disk Management Snap-in under Win2K sp3 Started by DeltaGamma, Mar 21 2003 05:07 http://www.compatdb.org/forums/topic/22225-restart-disk-management-snap-in-under-win2k-sp3/ AM Please log in to reply 1 reply to this topic #1 DeltaGamma DeltaGamma stranger Members 2 posts Posted 21 March 2003 - 05:07 AM When I launch ComputerManagement and click the DiskManagement Tree https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/305831 item, I get "An internal error has occurred. Please restart the disk management snap-in"So I Run MMC, follow the instructions to add the DM snap-in, but:1) On exiting MMC, with or without a save an internal of the consol, and re-launching CM, same error2) Even before exiting MMC, clicking on the newly created snap-in also causes the same error... I have tried many permutations on this themeThen I try the MS instruction in case of problems "use multiple adds", and then remove first instance--> same result, "An internal ... please restart etc".I would be grateful for any advice on how I can get the an internal error Disk Management snap-in to work again, and could this be something to do with a registry error? Back to top Report #2 DeltaGamma DeltaGamma stranger Members 2 posts Posted 22 March 2003 - 06:19 AM Thanks for that, but no joy1) Start Button-> Run Command -> diskmgmt.msc results with a quasi blank consol (eg. get main window, but now child windows and no functionality) and the same "snap-in" error message2) Temp/Tmp are ok, they are on the C:\WinNT\Temp etc as they should be with "%SystemRoot%\TEMP" as the actual values, and plenty of free space.??? what to do, have done boolean search on MS and web for this problem but no luck yet Back to top Report Back to Everything New Technology 0 user(s) are reading this topic 0 members, 0 guests, 0 anonymous users Reply to quoted postsClear Compatible Support Forums > Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Home Server/7 > Everything New Technology Privacy Policy Help Community Forum Software by IP.BoardLicensed to: Esselbach Internet Solutions IPB Skin By Virteq Sign In Need an account?
