That is no longer helping for me. I've just restarted, firewall is off, and I still can't get Messages to launch. Have a Mac which runs with Mountain Lion in it and now when I try to open up the iMessage application I just get the error message as “Internal messages error occurred”. How to resolve this problem? Illegal or not full path: (with nothing at all after the colon). It cannot be suppressed, and it is a completely spurious error: it obviously refers to the empty file path in the stack frame pushed by eval'd code, which is empty because eval'd code does not belong to a file.
