An Internal Virtual Machine Error 13 Has Occurred Metin2
been running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 under VirtualPC (with SP1) on an XP pro SP2 system. It was working ok, but I recently ran up2date on the linux box, which upgraded some of the software, and now I have a problem. Whenever I get to the point where linux tries to switch to graphical display mode, the VirtualPC gets an error: "An internal virtual machine error (13) has occurred." and "The virtual machine will reset now." Charles F McDevitt, Jul 15, 2005 #1 Advertisements Norman Diamond Guest It sounds like up2date changed your X11 driver. Boot to run level 3, login in text mode, and run your X11 configurator again. Some people have luck using X11's S3 driver with 16-bit pixels, some use X11's generic VESA driver with 32-bit pixels, and I use VESA but forgot how many bpp. The default X11 S3 driver setting is 24 bpp, which the Virtual PC product doesn't properly emulate. For some reason, I can't use 1600x1200 resolution any more or it blows out the VM. I can get it to boot 1024x768 (16 bits per pixel), which is better than nothing, but doesn't work well with my monitor. "Internal VM error(13)" VPC message: "Internal VM error(13)" New 09 Dec 2008 #1 SaGS Guest VPC message: "Internal VM error(13)" Hi all, Trying to install a specific Linux distro under VPC, I keep getting an "internal virtual machine error(13)" message from VPC, and then the VM gets reset. Does anybody know what exactly is this "error 13"? (A specific exception, like an unhandled #GP in the VM, something else?) Is there anywhere a list of such error codes? (I know installing Linux under VPC is a pain, but I would like to do it anyway.) Thanking you in http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/virtualpc-an-internal-virtual-machine-error-13-has-occurred.517065/ advance, sags My System Specs You need to have JavaScript enabled so that you can use this ... New 09 Dec 2008 #2 Grand_Poobah Guest Re: VPC message: "Internal VM error(13)" I means that your installation tried to have the CPU execute an instruction it cannot do. Right at the moment, I can't remember the site that shows all the possible operating systems that can (and can't) http://www.vistax64.com/virtual-pc/196981-vpc-message-internal-vm-error-13-a.html be installed as a VM. Perhaps someone will come along and add the URL for that site. I got the same error message when I tried to install iRMX (V2.1) from Intel.
