This error occurs once in a while. share|improve this answer answered Aug 12 '15 at 7:26 Nishant 1,462723 This solved my problem. Its the wierdest thing. I disabled the optimization and the build finally succeeded. The funny thing is that when I changed back the optimization settings to what they were when it was failing, the build still succeeded. Apparently this is a Visual Studio bug of some sort. –rimono Feb 18 at 11:33 Change: Whole Program Optimization From: Use Link Time Code Generation to: No Whole Program Optimization –X181 Sep 12 at 10:55 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the priv

I thought it was a reply to someone else –Humam Helfawi Feb 29 at 12:15 If you are just saying that I should propose a complete question. This error is a strange one which does not give you any clue. Even microsoft recommended to update your visual studio to get rid of it. In other words, there is no more clues that I can attach to my question –Humam Helfawi Feb 29 at 12:17 | show 5 more comments 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted I figured the problem after digging into the warnings I am getting. There was a suspecios one which is: warning C4239: nonstandard extension used : 'argument' : conversion from 'T' to 'T&' This warning is because of this line: auto x = foo(bar{}); the function foo is declared as follow:
