The motherboard is an Asus P4S8X with an onboard Promise Raid Controller 376. I https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-ghost-2003-internal-error-36000-boot never had any trouble using Norton Ghost with this motherboard before when having a SATA drive connected to the PDC. But now when I have a drive connected to this controller I get the above error. Booting without the SATA drive and just the IDE drives work. The error message says exactly "An internal inconsistency has been detected" If this problem persists contact Symantec Technical Support at http://service.symantec.com" and the ttle of the message is "Internal Error 36000". Can anyone tell me how to save the error file to a usb flash drive or onto one of the IDE drives that are also connected to the motherboard ? I cannot save it to the A: floppy drive for some reason. There used to be a version just for servers, but Symantec discontinued it. This is from the properties - tools of each partition in windows. 2) Check that your network share is working before doing Ghost. Copy a test file to the networked drive. I hope this helps ! 0 Message Author Comment by:c_hockland2007-01-08 i will run the consistency check but in terms of a share it doesnt even go to that screen. Also i will try to create a standard boot disk , save the imgage localy and then burn it on a dvd. I will let u now how it works. Give me a few mins to try out. 0 LVL 63 Overall: Level 63 Storage Software 20 Hardware 17 Message Expert Comment by:SysExpert2007-01-08 Is this a server using RAID or a special controller ? That could also be an issue. 0 Message Author Comment by:c_hockland2007-01-08 it is a Dell 1850 with a perc 4si and the disks are raid 1 (mirror ) 0 Message Author Comment by:c_hockland2007-01-08 when i tried to run a image from disk the menus come up with no errors. And this is a boot disk with out tcp/ip . It is a local boot disk. So i am more convinced that this is a raid issue. How can i overcome the raid issue though ? 0 LVL 63 Overall: Level 63 Storage Software 20 Hardware 17 Message Expert Comment by:SysExpert2007-01-08 DO you still get an error when tryin
