Solved Internal error occurred on the report server (rsInternalError) Posted on 2008-08-14 MS SQL Server 2005 DB Reporting Tools 2 Verified Solutions 10 Comments 4,506 Views Last Modified: 2009-12-16 Hi all an internal I am trying to set up the reporting services for sql 2005 enterprise and I am stuck with an internal error. The reporting services installation went without any errors, the IIS sites were created under the default web page with the RS wizard as well as the virtual directories. IIS is version 6 and running the Active Server Pages, ASP.NET v1.1.4322 and ASP.NET v.2.0.50727 extensions. The ASP.NET used for the Default an internal error Web Site is v.2.0.50727. Windows integrated authentication has been disabled and anonymous login enabled for both the Report Manager and Report Server sites. SQL SP2 has been applied after installing RS as well as the cumulative hotfix for SP2. When I try to access http://localhost/reports or http://localhost/reportserver I get the following: "An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)" When I go to the log file I find the following: "w3wp!library!1!08/14/2008-16:19:16:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details., Incorrect security descriptor version; Info: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InternalCatalogException: An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details." The end part is funny because it tells me to go to the log for more details when I am already in the log file. Iit seems a security problem, but I am a complete newbie to SQL so I would appreciate some help 0 Question by:Menshen Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution byMenshen Found the little bugger. The server once had MOM2007 installed and that seems to mess up the database catalog of the report server. After running the ResetSRS.exe tool, everything came back to normal. Go to
