It appears to cause a problem with Symantec Endpoint Protection V11 MR5. MR4 was not such a problem on Vista, but only MR5 will run on Windows 7. I have opened cases with both Intuit and Symantec. Symantec says it is an Intuit problem (I agree) and Intuit is living in complete denial. There is no fix for this at this point. I suggest you open a case with Intuit and add your voice that the error needs to be fixed. .... QB Enterprise Solutions 16 from a terminal server. Â The QB files and DB manager are on a file server that is also the Domain Controller. Â QB is running https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26104360/Quickbooks-EVentID-4-An-unexpected-error-has-occured-in-QuickBooks-Returning-NULL-QBWinInstance-Handle.html without any errors in QB itself, but is filling up the Event Logs on the terminal servers. Â I normally get multiple instances of both errors in rapid succession. The two errors are:Â #1 -- Got unexpected error 5 in call to NetShareGetInfo for path \\server\file.QBWI've confirmed the QBdataserviceuser25/26 accounts on the server with the QB DB manager have https://community.intuit.com/questions/1305943-unexpected-error-5-and-error-c-249-are-filling-up-my-events-logs-how-do-i-get-rid-of-them full rights to that folder and all files. Â Since the machine running the DB manager is also a domain controller, there are no local administrators, just domain admins. Â We've made the QBdataserviceuser25/26 accounts domain admins just to be safe (didn't appear to help). This error allegedly can appear if the network connection goes bad or sleeps between the user and the database files. Â There should be no network issues as both servers are virtual machines on the same host.#2 -- An unexpected error has occured in "Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions: Contractor 16.0": V26.0D R3 (M=1066, L=335, C=249, V=0 (0))All the solutions I found for this error (C=249) said to just ignore it if QB still works, but do not explain what's happening. Â This is a mission critical server that gets lots of heavy use, so if something is broken, I need to know. You can also review the QBWin.log and use errors recorded there to troubleshoot further. Here is a link on how to do this: http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/pages/knowledgebasearticle/1000486 Rod  Was this answer helpful? We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines: Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it. Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines. A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link. Be a good listener. Be encouraging and positive. Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping th
