"An unexpected error occurred: Not enough memory available to complete the operation. Close other programs to make more memory available, and then try to again." There are no other programs open and cannot save any new pages. Please assist Nfrance5, Jan 4, 2010 #1 Advertisements rocousa Guest I have the same problem and also, I can't insert pictures. When trying to insert pictures, the insert window appears for 2 seconds and desappears immediately. Had you any solution to this mess? From the frequency this question is asked, it seems to apply to the 32-bit version too. Only effective answer seems to be installing FrontPage 2003 in an XP Mode virtual machine. Which, of course, Microsoft has put off limits to the vast majority of folks with Win7. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Advertisement DKTaber Thread Starter Joined: Oct 26, 2001 Messages: 2,736 In 30 years of using a personal computer, I've never encountered this. I have an old pack of ClickArt CDs loaded with thousands of small pictures, most in .WMF format. I have never had a problem putting the pictures in a Word document (I still use Word 2000) by clicking "Insert, Picture, from file", locating the file on the CD, and clicking it. Tried that today and got a message saying that there was not enough memory to perform the operation, and it locked (or crashed?) Word. Only way to get out of it was via Task Manager/End Task. Wondering if that would happen if the pictures were on my HDD instead of the optical drive, I copied a large number of picture files to a folder in My Pictures, then tried to do the same thing: insert a picture from there into a Word document. Worked perfectly. Thinking that perhaps there was something wrong with the installation of Word, I uninstalled MS Office (Professional) altogether, reinstalled it, and again tried inserting a picture directly from the CD. Same thing happened; not enough memory, Word freezes. My computer has 16GB of RAM. The HDD on which I store my working files has a 1TB capacity, of which 972GB are still free. So what's causing this strange behavior? DKTaber, Apr 16, 2015 #1 Sponsor CleaverX Joined: Sep 27, 2012 Messages: 1,323 what are the settings of your page file? For C: (SSD), it's 200MB (NOT system managed). For E: (1TB HDD), it's "None". Word.exe is on C:, of course, but I save all working files on E:. I recently installed Samsung Disk Magician
