I have a sudden fatal problem with Entourage on my iMac. I can't do anything at all without getting an error message: An unknown error (16008) has occurred. It won't let me do a thing - send or receive mail, write a new email, go to the address book or calendar: anything. I can click on a few things and have it seem to work when I first open it, then it freezes. I can only get it to quit by force quitting it. I tried it after a reboot, and no improvement.Possibly relevant but I don't know how: I just got a new iPhone and used it to get my mail a couple of times. Since then, though, Entourage has worked. If anyone can help me get this to work again, I would be extremely grateful!- BH 24" iMac from 2009, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iPhone 4 Posted on Dec 18, 2010 12:44 PM I have this question too Close Q: Entourage problem All replies Helpful answers by Kappy, Kappy Dec 18, 2010 1:18 PM in response to Border Heeler Level 10 (271,277 points) Desktops Dec 18, 2010 1:18 PM in response to Border Heeler Entourage is a Microsoft product so you need to go to the MS forums for their Mac products. The error is not an OS X error. Seems much more than coincidental that I bought an iPhone and used it to download mail 24 hours before this problem with Entourage, a program that I've been using without this problem for more than 5 years.I gotta say that your response is more or less what I would have expected from someone at Microsoft - don't bother us with your Mac problems. The same amount of effort could have been expended on a helpful solut

Try deleting data and defrag your hard drive. Another user found that it was his mailbox that was full. Either uncheck Leave Mail On Server box or don't leave mail on server for extended periods. A contributor to the Entourage newsgroup came up with a possible explanation and fix for this error in particular when trying to send or receive large files that's certainly worth trying. He speculated that there was corruption in his Main Identity and verified the problem by creating a new identity (Edit>Switch Identity). The error disappeared in a new identity.
