"An unknown error (-17768) has occurred." "An unknown error (-17766) has occurred." "An unknown error (-3248) has occurred." I found the following worked for me: I had to edit the directory services account (tools, accounts, directory services; edit the account in question by modifying the DIRECTORY tab): Adjust the search base to read: dc=mydomain,dc=com And I also had to check "This server requires me to log on" I needed to ensure the following was UNchecked: Override default LDAP port 389 LDAP and Entourage Responses to "LDAP and Entourage" Ernest Lehmann Corentin Cras-Méneur [MVP] Guest Posts: n/a Re: LDAP and Entourage Posted: 07-14-2004, 01:10 AM Ernest Lehmann

On my computer it works just fine, but on my colleague's computer, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2139778?tstart=0 she gets "error 170" when she tries to access her account. Mail can't be sent or received - the inbox shows up as empty. Here are the details:The account login and password are correct, because she can connect to webmail. The DNS entry http://microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage.narkive.com/hyChC656/entourage-and-ldap for the exchange server resolves to an IP address which is accessible, and she can ping it just fine. We tried putting the IP address in the account config, and that doesn't work either. She's using OS X 10.5.8, and entourage 12.2.0 an unknown - same as me. the account settings are identical to my entourage, which is working fine. I've also checked the non-proxy hosts in the network settings and they are also identical. Can anybody help? macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8), entourage 12.2.0 Posted on Sep 2, 2009 3:17 AM I have this question too Close Q: Entourage error 170 All replies Helpful answers by DaddyPaycheck, DaddyPaycheck Sep 2, 2009 4:07 AM in response to mdarwin Level 6 (16,037 points) Sep 2, 2009 4:07 AM in an unknown error response to mdarwin Is the colleague in the same physical location as yourself? How are you both connected to your network(s), wired or wireless?
