NOTE: I have Googled this error message, but nothing I've found yet appears to work for my system's profile. One site suggested on uninstall the service, but I've been unable to figure out how to do this on the platform covered above, or confirm that for some strange reason an image got embedded by mistake. Additional questions, just ask - thanks! –blunders Mar 25 '11 at 16:22 So, is it Copy or Paste? –Arjan Mar 25 '11 at 18:07 | show 5 more comments 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted This appears to have fixed the issue: MS Excel 2007 error message - The picture is too large and will be truncated__Not a 'picture' - it's text in MS Excel 2007 that's being copied That being, clear the temp folder:

When trying to copy and paste a file from File Explorer (or Desktop), my "Paste" operations remains disabled. As if the copy operation never actually copied the file. I also noticed that when I select "Cut" (file/icon becomes somewhat transparent), then moment I right click on the location where I would like to paste, the file/icon that the transparency stops, and once again the "Paste" function is not available. The same goes for Ctrl+X/Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. This also does not work. When I boot into safe mode the operation works however, and intermittently in "normal" mode the operation does work. It seems as if some service/driver/thing stops the functionality. Please assist, I will provide additional information if required.
