files put down by the package. In this case, windowsupdate.log. I don't believe this file should be in your package in the first place. hld103104-13-2006, 10:00 AMBuilt several packages using AdminStudio 7 Repackager wizard. Some packages work fine. However, when uninstalling some I receive “Error 1306. Another application has exclusive access to the file C:\WINNT\WindowsUpdate.log. Please shut down all other applications, another application has exclusive access to the file sophos then click Retry.” This happens in both Microsoft Windows 2000 Pro and Microsoft Windows XP Pro. I have checked the Open Files under Computer Management, and do not show any files open. I can discontinue MSIEXEC.EXE from the Task Manager, and sometimes this allows me to continue uninstalling the item. Also, when I do happen to have a successful uninstall of a packaged produce and try to uninstall another product (packaged or not), occasionally I receive ”Error 1704.An installation for the last package that was uninstalled successfully is currently suspended. You must undo the changes made by that installation to continue. Do you want to undo those changes?” When you click Yes, the last package that was uninstalled tries to reinstall. Any suggestions would be appreciated. How can I find which process is another application has holding the file? You could do that, but the better solution is probably to remove that file from the installation. Sounds like it does not belong there. They're held open by one of the processes, I forget which. So, before trying to delete them, stop the WU and BITS services. Don't forget to re-start them afterwards (and check that they started, too) Answered 04/09/2008 by: VBScab Please log in to comment Please log in to comment 0 Yes guys! You were right, both of you! First of all that file (qmgr0.dat and qmgr1.dat) shouldn't be part of package. As VBScab wrote I stopped both BITS and WU services and ran uninstall, so it worked perfectly. PS! I've now removed these files from installation. Thank you!
