(Normally, it doesn't mention the error message number, or the fact that the issue is related to an ASU problem.)Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.Launch Apple Software Update ("Start apple itunes error 1053 > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? It was suggested that I completely uninstall iTunes and do it as a clean install. I did this. Therefore, I no longer have Update Apple Software as an option. There just seems to be so many variables in apple itunes systems and software that it's a proverbial minefield! I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could talk me through a viable solution! The problem originated with ITunes, which was working fine until the recent update(9.0.3). On downloading QTime I now receive the message-"There is a problem with the windows installer package.
