Sometime this afternoon I could not even get 1/2 way through "Gathering information to send apple itunes match song limit to iTunes" I keep stopping and restarting sometimes it gets 3/4 of the way through and sits idle. So I no longer get the error message because I can not get that far. I tried the Option trick people are not posting but no luck. I believe my other problem to be that my Library is very large. 45K+ Over half are iTunes purchased though. So I should still be able to use the iTunes Match Program. I'm wondering if that clears out your old iTunes Match cache when you do this. Moratti on 8th April 2012 iTunes Match 4001 error is certainly not impressing people who not getting any music, anywhere at any time! I hear that lots of people have been having very frustrating problems with iTunes Match. Some of my friends across the pond tell

to be the most common, but error 4002 is also cropping up, among others. I haven't experienced any problems myself and have been merrily using iTunes Match, but apparently many complaints have been made to Apple and their engineers are said to be https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3349657?start=45 "working on it" (but they've been doing so for some time). Whilst we wait for Apple to sort this out, here’s a possible solution to the problem that seems to have worked for a lot of people. Try this if you get the iTunes Match 4001 error (or any other, for that matter): Open iTunes and click the Store tab on the menu bar. Hold down the Option Key (⌥) and at the same time click ‘Turn Off iTunes Match’. Click Store on the menu again, then click http://masteryourmac.net/mac/mac-sos/itunes-match-4001-error/ ‘Turn on iTunes Match’ (but don’t hold down anything this time, just click it). And that's about it! It probably won't work for everyone but it’s certainly worth a try because I've had feedback that it has worked for some and has been air-punching and cries of "Yes" late at night in several states. I hope it works for you! Drop me a line if it does. I love happy endings. Bonne chance! { 7 comments… add one } Cesar 8th February 2015, 9:30 pm Got the link to this on a forum and it actually worked for me. Thanks. Reply Jane de Moratti 10th February 2015, 2:27 pm Hi Cesar, Glad this fix still works, and thanks for taking the time to comment. Reply Flavio 19th March 2015, 4:49 pm It did not work for me, still having the same error. Any other advise? Reply Jane de Moratti 19th March 2015, 7:14 pm Hi Flavio, Sorry this didn't work for you. As I said in my post, it doesn't work for everyone. Depends what version of OS X you're using etc. etc. I'll see if I can come up with something else in the next few days. Reply David 3rd July 2015, 5:40 pm I am getting this message and I don't have iTunes Match. Is there an alternative solution? Reply Jane de Moratti 5th July 2015, 1:36 pm Hi David, Could you let me know exactly what you were trying to do at the time, what operating system you have and which version of iTunes? Reply Jamey 12

Been looking for a solution on the net and tried several suggested options of which none work for me. Signing out and back in = No Go. Open iTunes and click the Store tab on the menu bar. Hold down the Option Key (⌥) and at the same time click apple itunes ‘Turn Off iTunes Match’. Click Store on the menu again, then click ‘Turn on iTunes Match’ (but don’t hold down anything this time, just click it). =No Go. Anyone had this problem and knows the correct solution to this problem? However I went thru the whole thread and unfortunately there's nothing in there I haven't tried yet. Truly hope this problem resolves itself or I will not be renewing iTunes Match. It's a shame tho, cause I always hated iTunes and find Winamp a way better app but with a working iTunes Match it's less of a bitter pil being stuck with it lol.
