Iis Application Pool Stops 503

Application Pool Keeps Stopping Iis 8
webpage, that page's App Pool state switches to "Stopped" and the Status says "Unspecified error". I'm using IIS 6.0 on Server 2003. This all started happening shortly after installing PHP and MySQL on the server. The applications did however work for a short time after doing the install so I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence or if the PHP installation messed something iis application pool keeps stopping up. I used WPI to do the installation, so I would think that shouldn't be the problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! -Ryan Reply dotnetnerd 151 Posts Re: Application Pool - Unspecified error Apr 05, 2011 11:58 PM|dotnetnerd|LINK Could you please advise the error that you get? Any good web developer/administrator knows about eventvwr.msc, right? Well, I just found that nifty little tool yesterday after 2 years of configuring and managing IIS 6 web applications. How does that even happen? I have no idea... lack of proper training I suppose. Once I got there, I saw this: "Could not load all ISAPI filters for site/service. Therefore startup aborted." I had added an ISAPI filter for PHP that was invalid. After I deleted that, everything worked like a charm. Reply dotnetnerd 151 Posts Re: Application Pool - Unspeci

I get the following error: Service Unavailable HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable. The Application Pool of IIS 7 is shown as stopped. All web applications have this problem. I have searched on Google and set Credential in (Advance setting->Identity) on the Application Pool of Central Administration but my iis application pool second web Application was in FBA Configuration so when I browse to it I get the same error as above. central-administration iis share|improve this question edited Nov 8 '11 at 13:22 SPDoctor♦ 9,00022458 asked Nov 8 '11 at 9:03 Jigs 84941434 1 You may want to get more info about the error by checking the logs. I have tried to edit it to improve the grammar, but could you please check it to make sure that I have understood your original question correctly, and modify if necessary. Thanks. –SPDoctor♦ Nov 8 '11 at 13:23 As well as the ULS logs, I suggest you check your Windows event logs for errors - it may not have got as far as SharePoint. –SPDoctor♦ Nov 8 '11 at 13:25 add a comment| 11 Answers 11 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted I found that the problem I had that resulted in a 503 was due to the App Pool being set to support 32-bit applications. I went to IIS manager, app pool, advanced settings, and set "Enable 32-bit applications" to "False". This was on a Content App pool, though, not Central Admin. share|improve this answer answered Nov 8 '11
