I have had no problems out of either drive until I upgraded my Windows Media Player. I heard that http://www.deepburner.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1788 you could burn cds directly from the newer windows media player so I downloaded it.... well yes you can burn cds from it.. .at a slow speed... but then I can't use any of the cd burning software because the cd rom and the cd burner aren't found. I uninstalled the newer windows media player and it didn't help anything. It says Unable to initialize WNASPI32.DLL anytime I try to use cd http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?m=80559 burning software. I tried getting the wnaspi32.dll file from a few different sites but one program said it had to be the "original windows wnaspi32.dll file" so I'm stuck with a cd rom drive and a cd burner that won't work. I can't even read cds with either of them. PLEASE HELP!!! ~Kimberly kimberpc@yahoo.com Post #: 1 RE: ASPI Initialization Error - 9/20/2004 6:15:27 PM MP3Mogul Posts: 5448 Joined: 4/11/2002 From: Retired ModeratorStatus: offline No problem, just use your burning program, not windows media player. Also, download Laffin's ASPI fix file at the link below, read and follow the instructions carefully, and everything will be fine again. http://members.aol.com/mp3mogul/aspi.zip (in reply to kimberpc) Post #: 2 RE: ASPI Initialization Error - 9/27/2004 1:05:31 PM kimberpc Posts: 6 Joined: 9/20/2004 Status: offline I have already found and downloaded the ASPI fix thing.. it does work... and my cd burning software will now work.. it wouldn't work before. BUT when I try to read a CD it still won't read any cds. Any help? Second best place I would assume would be BYOAC.I am using the FreeDo1.7 version of the (3DO emulator). The bios file I am using is called "fz10_rom.bin" and freedo has been set to point to this file. When I double-click the "freedo.exe" file a little window is displayed which states:"ASPI not found - Fatal Error"How can I make this error go away? « Last Edit: April 15, 2006, 07:44:12 pm by unclet » Logged unclet Trade Count: (+4) Full Member Offline Posts: 3551 Re: 3DO (freedo) "ASPI Init Failed" fatal error ..... help! « Reply #1 on: April 15, 2006, 09:22:38 am » I searched around and found I needed to place "winaspi32.dll" in my C:\Windows\System32\" folder to get rid of that error, however, I could only find "wnaspi32.dll" and placed this file in there instead .... I guess it is the same thing???Anyway, now when I start freedo.exe I get the "ASPI Init Failed" fatal error, which I can not figure out how to solve...... any ideas?
